I decided to have mine in Dec..we r short staffed at work, so that gives me time to tie up things and we should have two new people on board by then.

Hello Everyone! I had my first visit to start my journey today, and I have to say it went great!! My doctor and his staff was wonderful! I am so glad that I have decided to get this done. I am 5'3" 216lbs with a BMI of a lil over 38. I have co-morbilities as well. I am starting the 3 month SWL with them next week, so they told me I should be able to have my surgery in August, of course I have to do other requirements, but it is all worth it for what is going to be a healthier me in the future. I am just tooo thrilled right now!!!!

Thanks StacyS for the reply. My first appoint to start my 3 month supervised diet starts the 15th, but I have so many questions now.

Does anyone on here have BCBS Federal of South Carolina that has been approved for sugery? If so, was it a difficult process? Did you get approved on the first try?

Thanks Gina and Deb! My insruance requires a 3 month supervised diet program, which I was told by my doctor's office that it can be done there. I am thinking that the 15th will start that journey for me.

Hello everyone! I started inquring about WLS last month, since it seems like my weight just keeps climbing and climbing, dispite all the excerising, diets, and pills that I take. I initially started wanting the LB, but after doing more and more research on the different kinds of WLS, I have decided that the Sleeve is the right choice for me! Having a weight problem my entire life..loosing, then gaining twice what I lost, I am to a point of my life that I need consistency and I feel in my heart that the Sleeve will give this too me. Since making this decision, I have attended a WLS seminar, and my first appoint with the doc and nutritionist is June 15th. I am so excited to get my ball rolling!!
