  1. I was banded 6 days ago (may 20, 2011) and I am having intense pain in my back from not being able to burp. It hurts really bad when I sneeze, yawn, or hiccup. The pain in my shoulder went away a day or 2 ago. I've heard that is normal is lap band patients, from the excess gas. I just can't wait for the day that I am able to burp again!! lol Never knew I would miss it so much. I've gotten a little nauseated a few times, but I was given nausea medicine from my doctor that really helps. Any time I took my pain medicine, I had to take the nausea medicine with it. I stopped taking the pain meds on day 4 though.
  2. I just had my lap band surgery last friday, 7 days ago. I haven't been able to burp since or had a BM. I am getting this intense pain around my sternum and in the middle of my back. It's really bad when I sneeze or yawn! I'm been searching the internet to see if it was normal, and after reading all of these comments, I guess it is! I can't wait for the day that I am able to burp again! Never knew I would miss it so much. Other than this pain in my back, everything else is going smoothly! Still on liquids for a week or so, and I have lost 12 lbs so far!
