I'd like to respectfully disagree. These threads are super important! This is a "discussion" forum after all. The problem as I see it is that members are disrespectful to one another and resort to personal attacks instead of making their case. I will have non of that moving forward. You're seeing a fake site which doesn't resemble BariatricPal - at all. We were required to post it temporarily until our Apple app is approved (hopefully later today.)

You got through a loophole to upload your pics I hope it's there once we upgrade the site this week. I flipped your pic and you should be good to go.

I will not allow any abusive behavior on our new forums. Bullies will be banned permanently. You know I'm always available and will deal with any bumps in the road that may arise (I'm sure they will!) We've all suffered similarly but have taken different paths to get to where we are today. Does that make one person (or procedure) better than another ? I have no problem with intelligent conversation or even arguing about the efficacy of any weight loss procedure. I will have zero tolerance for trolls or trouble makers. The weight loss surgery bashing from weight loss surgery patients (AND surgeons!!!) is what has given bariatric surgery such a bad name. If anyone feels they are being targeted, they know where to and how to reach me. Things will most definitely change....I'm hoping they're for the better.

We sent the same email to all members of our four wls communities (LapBandTalk, VerticalSleeveTalk, RNYTalk and SleevePlicationTalk). The new site BariatricPal isn't live yet. We're hoping to go live tomorrow night.

Your concerns are my concerns. I plan on personally moderating the Lap-Band forums. Members that don't follow our rules will be permanently banned. We will have zero tolerance for bullying, rudeness or trolling.

I've had and have similar concerns. I contemplated and have given thought to this decision for many months. I plan on personally moderating the new community as well as adding new mods (if necessary) to make sure everyone is getting along. I will have ZERO tolerance for members breaking rules. I consider myself a Lap-Band success.....I will have a zero tolerance for member bashing or bullying Bandsters. I have your back I think that's enough I's for one response.

The new site will have some of the functionality you've requested from the get go (1 and 3). We plan on adding more in depth privacy features once we receive more member feedback, after the site is launched. We'll be able to make changes to the site in almost real time Vs. taking weeks or months to roll out previous updates.

We thought of that..... You'll be able to set the content you view in New Content based on your surgery type. All your previous pics, posts and friends will be moved over. You'll use the same username and password you're used to using over here. Chat will also be offered on BariatricPal.

There will be completely separated areas for each surgery on BariatricPal. The Gastric Bypass Forums, blogs and photos will be a spitting image of RNYTalk. There will be a general discussion forum where everyone can intermingle.

We have new tickers designed but they won't be released until a few weeks after the new site launch (Sunday eve.)

I believe AOL is based on the older generation Internet Explorer (IE) browser. Your best bet would be to download and install IESpell . You can download it here.

Ha! My thoughts exactly. We should be going live with the upgrade at some point this week. It's not a simple task and we keep running into issues. We've been running LapBandTalk for over a decade now and there's quite a bit of legacy software that needs to be updated and re-written. We really appreciate your patience!! PS: I wish I had the time but I don't read every thread on LapBandTalk. It's just by chance that I noticed this one. Please PM me and notify me next time there's a thread that requires a response from my end.

Spell check is built in to most modern day browsers. You might be required to turn this feature on. Which browser are you using please ?
