  1. That STILL doesn't. Give you the right to use our names!!!!! But they are STILL in quoted areas! They were deleted as well. That STILL doesn't. Give you the right to use our names!!!!! That STILL doesn't. Give you the right to use our names!!!!! Actually, once they're in the public domain we have the legal right to use your names. Out of decently and privacy, I removed your names.
  2. You can PM me. Not sure why this has to be discussed privately.
  3. This was public info and posted in error. I removed the names as soon as requested.
  4. We're making approximately $1.25 from the total page views this topic will end up reaching (I kid you not.) It's much more personal for me. It's not about the $. Truth needs to be told and I won't allow bullies to shut up the victims. There are 6 cases we know of. There are most likely 50+ over the last few years that we're not aware of.
  5. The attacks from @coexist123 (Jessica C. head administrator of team Illan) and @@babygirl1987 (Whitney F.) are really going to the extreme and must stop immediately. We noticed @babygirl123 was posting under her name and keeps coming back under different names. Now she is posting as @babygirl123 and also sent one of our members a threat through IM that she will go after her in personal life. This is the message she sent the unnamed member.........." Things in this online world can very much effect your personal life the same way you are trying to effect omars. You have no idea what I'm capable of....." I think this has gotten out of hand.....
  6. . Let me clarify something for you Travelmego, what happened to me did take place when I was there for my sleeve and not on a return visit. I did go back to Tijuana, but not it was to have another surgery, he and I were not even communicating any more. I did stay at the same hotel because it is safe, nice and close to the hospital I was using. However I was not prepared for the fact that he has keys or pass cards rather to these rooms. Imagine my surprise to walk into my room one evening only to find him there. This is a lie!!!! They flirted around during the first visit and had sex on the return visit!!!! Quit lying "S"!!!!!!! You need to follow our posted forum rules or you'll give us no option but to suspend your account. Please stop the name calling and cussing.
  7. It's not a fake name. Please stop repeating false info. Bill lives with Susan. He's logged in to this site at times. She posted with his account and realized she made a mistake. Do you really think Susan would post with her (known) BF's screen name ? I'd call her out on it the second I read the post.
  8. I personally deleted your post. You didn't bust Susan for anything. You're trying to build a case against her that's baseless. Bill is Susan's fiance....not really sure why you're harping on this issue? Why are you and others trying so hard to discredit her ? Seems crystal clear to me that we have an individual (Omar) that's been sexually preying on Dr. Illan's patients. End of story.
  9. I personally deleted this post. It's 100% false info.
  10. Alex I am dumb founded to see you chime in here and not completely remove a post from this forum that is so slanderous to Dr. Illan's company We normally remove slanderous posts immediately. I've personally communicated with multiple women who have similar allegations against Omar Acosta. I stand behind Susan 100% and will allow this topic to stay up for everyone to read.
  11. Not busted, Bill is my fiance, we use the same computer. I didn't realize he was signed on, and when I did, I edited his post and reposted under my name. Alex knows who Bill is. So, no worries there. Bill is Susan's fiance. I've seen very cute pics of them on FB

  14. Hey Everyone! Congratulations! We did it! BariatricPal now has 3.5 million posts! How much is 3.5 million? If you skipped 1 calorie every time someone made a post, you would lose 1,000 pounds. If you posted once per second, it would take you 40 days to hit 3.5 million posts. If you took one step for each of 3,500,000 posts, you would walk 700 miles. Okay, these are cute statistics, but hitting the 3.5-million mark truly is meaningful. It shows how much of a pillar we are for the weight loss surgery community, and it also shows how loyal and wonderful our members are. We Have a Winner! A couple of weeks ago, to thank you for your participation on BariatricPal, we announced that the member who made post number 3.5 million would get a prize. Congratulations to our winner, @LindafromFlorida ! You will receive a copy of “The Big Book on Bariatric Surgery: Living Your Best Life After Weight Loss Surgery”. 15. I found several posts online that said Insure Nutrition is actually charging you (and your insurance) for the scar cream because insurance will not cover the drinks. Many people say their insurance has been charged $5000 for the scar cream. Just be sure to do your homework. Sometimes if it sounds too good to be true, it really is. From what I'm aware...they're only charging insurance. They're not expecting patients to pay. Contact Insure Nutrition directly if you have any questions. They seem to be very responsive.
  16. If the many diets that you have tried over the years don't help you lose weight, weight loss surgery may turn out to be the only strategy that is able to get you to your goal weight. Still, weight loss surgery is just a tool, and your weight loss depends on your hard work over the years from when you first plan your surgery to when you are maintaining your goal weight. A healthy lifestyle includes eating right, exercising regularly, and silencing the doubtful voices in your head and of your family and friends. Measuring each bite of food, and getting up before dawn to take a walk, and passing up your aunt’s homemade peach pie can get tiresome. Motivating yourself and setting good goals can help you consistently make the right decisions for your health. These are a few tips to help you. Why Are You Losing Weight? It’s easy to remember why you want to lose weight when you are having trouble finding small-enough clothes or your weight is above the limit for a theme park ride. It’s harder to remember why you want to lose weight when you and a group of friends are at the dinner table with a large chocolate cake. Making a list of the reasons why you want to lose weight and looking at the list often can keep the reasons fresh in your mind and strengthen your resolve to resist temptation. These are some of the common reasons for getting weight loss surgery. Live longer. Be healthier – get off medications or manage your health conditions better. Participate in more activities with friends and family. Go shopping in regular stores with great clothes. Fit comfortably into car seats, restaurant booths, and movie theater and airplane seats. Feel better about yourself. Make It Personal Deepen your motivation even further and use it to help you stay on track if you think about some of the reasons why you are losing weight that have to do with people in your life. These might be some of your reasons. You want to be an active parent who is able to play with your children. You want to be alive and healthy when your children graduate from high school or give you grandchildren. Obesity is making you miss out on important moments like family hikes. You watched an overweight parent or aunt or uncle suffer from diabetes or heart disease at a young age, and know that you may be headed in the same direction. Your siblings also suffer from obesity and its consequences, and you want to break the pattern. Think About the Short, Medium, and Long Term The weight loss journey is a long and difficult process, to say the least. You need to spend months or years preparing for weight loss surgery by getting the payment sorted out, choosing a surgeon, and following the pre-surgery diet. Then there is the actual surgery, followed by months of recovery that can include pain, nausea, and complications. As you recover, you need to learn an entirely new way of eating and living, and may be hungry, cranky, and tired. Finally, there is the rest of your life, as you lose weight and stay on your new eating plan. Every day can be filled with challenges such as tempting but forbidden foods, the need to exercise, and how to deal with people who may not be supportive of your surgery. Goals give you something specific to work towards. The long-term goals are the big ones. They may be the ones that you have in mind when you get weight loss surgery or that you tell other people. Some long-term goals might be losing 100 pounds, or jogging five miles without stopping. Those long-term goals can take years to accomplish, and setting some short-term goals can keep you focused as you work toward the long-term goals. They can include losing 5 pounds this month or speed-walking for a mile. These are some other short-term goals that can keep you on track day-to-day. Lowering your blood pressure or cholesterol or blood sugar levels enough so that your doctor tells you to lower your dose of medications. Going for a month without going to a fast food restaurant. Hitting your protein and water goals every day for a week. Vary Your Goals Victories can be few and far between if your goals are too narrow, and this mistake can leave you feeling unmotivated. Consider what happens if the only goals that you have are to lost certain amounts of weight. What happens if you do not hit a certain weight loss goal? Does that mean that your hard work has been pointless? Of course not, but you might feel that way if that was the only goal that you were working towards. Learn to look for and recognize all kinds of progress by setting goals that go beyond your weight. When you achieve them, you have earned a non-scale victory (NSV). While a lower number on the scale is easy to see, NSVs are what make life worth living. They can include the following. Getting in good enough shape to be able to walk briskly with your husband. Making it through an entire dinner at your parents’ house without taking offense at any negative comments about your surgery. Going out with your friends and enjoying their company without giving in to the food. Celebrate! We’re all a work in progress. With weight loss surgery comes years of working on improving your health. The only way to keep up the effort, and the only way to make the effort worthwhile, is to celebrate! Celebrate the small victories to be sure that you realize how valuable your efforts are. Buy yourself a new kitchen scale, get your nails done, go out for coffee with a friend, or plan a hiking trip. You are worth working for, and your victories are worth celebrating. You can lose more weight and keep it off when you stay focused, but that can be challenged. Remind yourself of your motivations and celebrate all kinds of victories to keep yourself in the game.
  17. Please keep us updated on your progress if you're able after surgery. Wishing you all the best!!!!
  18. Hi Tristan, Thanks for your suggestion. Please see this new forum
  19. Hey, BariatricPal Members! Happy Fourth of July! This summer holiday is filled with parades, barbecues and concerts, and we hope that your holiday involves family and friends! Any weight loss surgery patient or potential patient can use a little advice to get through a three-day weekend, so that’s why we’ve put together this newsletter! Here is what you’ll find. Pay It Forward This Independence Day July 4 Barbecue: What Are You Bringing to the Party? Go, Team USA, at the FIFA World Cup! A Little Honesty, Please! (From Yourself, to Yourself)! Have a safe holiday weekend! We hope you find some time to spend part of it with us. Sincerely, Alex Brecher Founder BariatricPal.com Pay It Forward This Independence Day On July 4, the United States celebrates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence as a significant step in the separation from the United Kingdom. Since then, Americans have enjoyed a degree of prosperity that is unparalleled in most places in the world, and many of us are grateful for the freedom that we have to express our thoughts, pursue our interests, and choose our friends. This weekend, we suggest that you take a few minutes to reflect on some of the things in your life that you are grateful for, whether that includes your family and friends, your job, or your freedom to make decisions that affect your own health. We also suggest taking a few minutes to help someone else out in any way that you can think of. You could help your neighbor clean out the garage, volunteer at a homeless shelter, or read a book to children at a local library. Your way of helping may be as simple as logging on to BariatricPal and giving a struggling member a few words of encouragement. Kindness can only make this country better! July 4 Barbecue: What Are You Bringing to the Party? Your friends or parents invited you over for a barbecue this Fourth of July weekend, and you know what that means: ribs, hot dogs, baked Beans, potato salad, coleslaw, and cupcakes. Unfortunately, you know from past years that there is not going to be anything that you can eat. What can you do without being rude? Be polite, of course! No good guest shows up to a party empty-handed, so why would you? Think about the foods that you need to stick to your diet during the barbecue, and bring them. Just make sure you bring enough for several people because these healthy treats may be the biggest hits of the afternoon. First, make sure that you bring some lean Protein. You might bring a package of vegetarian burgers or turkey burgers to be grilled along with the other meat. If you don’t think the host will be willing to grill your protein for you, bring your own pre-cooked veggie burger, low-fat cheese, or hard-boiled eggs. Another option is to bring a high-protein salad to share. You might try chicken breast, egg white, or tuna salad made with Greek yogurt. You’ll also want another dish or two to eat with your protein. These are a few foods to consider bringing. Classic green salad with a bottle of dressing on the side. Raw or grilled veggie kebobs with cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, bell pepper pieces, and zucchini slices. A cut-up watermelon so that you and the other health-conscious guests can have something to eat for dessert instead of brownies and chocolate chip Cookies. Frozen bananas. These may simple, but a half of a frozen banana can keep you from digging into the ice cream. When you bring enough delicious and healthy food for everyone to share, you can be certain that you will be able to stick to your diet at a barbecue and still be able to enjoy the occasion with everyone else. Go, Team USA, at the FIFA World Cup! Soccer is nowhere near being as popular in the U.S. as in many parts of the rest of the world, and it lags far behind the major sports of football, baseball, hockey, and basketball. Many Americans do not watch any Major League Soccer games during the professional season, and can’t name the top American or international players. Still, that lack of interest changes once every four years during the FIFA World Cup. As the games play out in Brazil, millions are watching these incredible athletes. Whether you are a patriotic American who roots for Team USA, or you have chosen your favorite teams based their stories or on your or your family’s ancestry, you can use the FIFA World Cup 2014 as motivation to get in better shape. You may not have the athleticism of these seasoned and talented athletes, but you can use a soccer ball to get yourself moving. One great idea for getting some exercise is to bring a soccer ball with you whenever you go to a picnic or another outdoors event. Take it out and kick it around with your friends and family when you have a few minutes to spare, and you’ll burn a few calories without much effort. You would be surprised at how much of an effect this can have on your weight loss when you do it regularly. You don’t need to be a good athlete to have fun and burn calories with a soccer ball. If you’re not up for sprinting up and down a soccer field during a full-out game, try one of these lower-intensity alternatives with a soccer ball or another kind of ball. Kick the ball around with your friends and family. Play dodgeball. Play monkey-in-the-middle. Play kickball. Whenever you make exercise fun and convenient, you are more likely to do it. So, keep your soccer ball handy and get it out whenever you can! You’ll also be showing your support for the World Cup teams. A Little Honesty, Please! (From Yourself, to Yourself)! This topic comes up all the time on BariatricPal, and it’s worth mentioning here as a little reminder. The only way you will be able to lose weight and keep it off is to be honest with yourself with respect to your food choices, portion sizes, and exercise. What other people believe doesn’t matter. Tricking yourself into thinking you are following the plan when you really aren’t will not lead you to lose weight. If you hit a weight loss plateau, you start to feel sick frequently, or your health numbers are not as good as your doctor expected, ask yourself these questions. “Am I measuring every single bite?” “Am I drinking enough Water every day in between – not with – meals?” “Am I eating a source of lean protein at every meal and snack?” “Am I choosing nutritious foods or sugary, fatty foods?” If you’ve fallen into a few bad habits and you’ve noticed that you might not be telling yourself the whole truth and nothing but the truth, a three-day weekend like the Independence Day weekend can be a good time to get back into it. Use the extra time to figure out what you can do better, and how you will make it happen. Good luck, and let us know how it goes on BariatricPal!
