  1. How's things going?
  2. Did anyone have to have a lower port put in?
  3. I can drink diet soda just fine, I have a couple a week, however it takes me hours to drink it. My husband was banded with me and can drink beer.
  4. Yup. Regular panties and NO tucking my gut here there and everywhere! You can tuck it in? I'm the poster child for muffin top! lol
  5. I totally agree. WLS is a personal decision. Take an inventory of your bad eating habits. Everybody's different look at what's best for you.
  6. The main reason I like the band is that I'm still in control. U can have it as loose or as tight as u want. My goal. And it's only my goal was to not over eat.
  7. 2 years ago I got banded and a co-worker had a sleeve the same time-My goal was to stop overeating herd was losing weight. Well she lost 150 lbs the first year, I lost 80. All our co-workers were riding me about how much better the sleeve was- Well here it's been 2 years, I've lost 100lbs and maintained a slow weight loss, she's gained 50 % of her weight back. My band allows me to eat anything I want, just no more than a cup at a time. My opinion is-what do you want for your long term goal.
  8. So what did you tell co workers? I need to think of something. Not saying anything won't go (I work at Wal*Mart need I say more) lol.The best thing I could think of wasI thought of saying I had a "mass" removed.
  9. You look fantastic! I hope I look as good as you. My surgery is the 17th.
  10. My ps is going to do my husband too, we got banded together. We were going to get a body lift together, but he has an afib, so he has to get clearance from the cardiologist. He used to have a practise in Philly now he has his own office in Rehoboth Beach.
  11. I love reading your updates! Why do u have to go to philly from Baltimore?
  12. May I ask how you got insurance to pay for it when I was overweight there were all for it now that the cyst and rashes have gone they won'tIt took a while! Rashes backaches had to be documented. I started in the summer showing my doctor rashes under my boobs belly and between my legs. Which prevents me from exercising. Then they would only do it if I had more than the minimum amount of skin to remove and at least 2 bra sizes.
  13. I wasn't trying to offend anyone. If it wasn't for insurance, I'd be on the first flight. I went through hell and high Water to get the insurance to pay for my surgery. I just noticed not just on this site, the scars seemed to me to be more severe. I know everyones pain tolerance and healing is different. I really like reading everyones surgery and recovery stories. And seeing pictures. I'll be posting a few of my own soon! Sue
  14. Just an observation- does it seem to be the ones that had their surgery in Mexico are having a rougher time than the ones that have it done in the States? I notice a big difference in drains and stitches.
  15. All the way around with thigh and butt lift and straight up to the boobs
  16. I am 54 and I have my husband and my son and daughter in law live with us So I have plenty of help. My husband is flying with me and it's a 2 hr non stop flight. My ps wants me to do what I did before Lapband and pile up on the protein for faster healing. I may have to buy myself a lazy boy! It'll be 2 1/2 weeks before my flight. I just had a new Grandbaby so I have to go see him and my daughter had a rough time and wants my moral support. Still value all you alls opinions. Thanks. Sue
  17. Got my surgery date- January 17th. Full body lift. Then after 6 months, Boobs and 6 months later, thighs Would have been the 14th but my surgeon wants me to have a low profile port. So- he says I'll be out of work for 6 to 8 weeks! But i read that alot of people were up and about after 2 weeks. I want to fly out to see my daughter after 21/2 weeks. So whats everybodys do's and dont's? Sue
  18. So how did you use the bathroom before?
