    monthly cycles....

I hear ya. I had my op in February and this is my first month clear. Had about a couple of days a month clear but constant bleeding from the off. Dr changed my bc pill to combined instead of progesterone only and that seems to have done the trick. Forget extra precautions..my hubby not allowed near lol:D

  7. Hey, looking good. I am down 66lbs had a bit of a stall but hoping that will past soon. No major problems, have to have vitamin D supplements now as I have not been absorbing any but other than that it's all good. We are looking to move to the states now, so all time and energy has been focused on that. We are just in the starting blocks so it's a long road ahead. You look great kee...

  8. Hi Xandria, thanks for your message. Not been on here much as working so much and everyone in a different time zone lol. I have had a bit of a stall of late i'm afraid, lost 54lbs since sleeved, so you are gradually creeping out in front..not that it's a competition. I feel well in myself but have not really been able to get warm since surgery. What sort of things are you eating and how much. I have found these last couple of weeks that I have been eating more and have had that empty feeling ALOT more lately. Need to get back on track with the excercise, not done ANY for 2-3 weeks as the energy levels have been ridiculously low. Had a blood test to check the vitamin levels, get the results on 06/28. How have you been doing, you sound like you have been doing great, 63lbs wow :w00t: that is something to be proud of xx.

    UK Sleevers

Hi all and welcome Paul5678. Haven't been on for a while, so thought I would pop in say hi. Good luck Bookleen, we'll all be thinking of you. As for the driving thing I was told could drive as soon as feel able to do an emergency stop comfortably, but yorkshire has a very valid point, check with your insurance before you do. Well done all of us, keep up the good work xx.
  10. Could be just me, but having read through (for about an hour) still does not appear to be any first hand BAD experiences, just opinions on other peoples experiences and not own accounts. I am sure that people with bad experiences have their reasons for not posting on here and am sure that they do not need a ventriliquist to air their views for them. I am sure they are all grown adults that are quite capable of accounting for their own experiences and frankly if you have not experienced problems with this practice yourself, then you have no business posting about someone elses experiences...perception is a wonderful thing and is as individual as the experience. C'mon people after 11 pages, we are still yet to hear the many first hand accounts everyone is talking about ...or did I mis read the post title "speak up THOSE with leaks and infections. Surely out of all the very spirited people on this forum, they are not ALL "afraid" of discussing their opinion for fear of being shot down or deleted. COME ON!! common sense people....AND for the record I don't work for any practice and do not even share the same country. I just have a low boredom threshold when it comes to "facts" that cannot be substantiated.

    Anyone Else feel Stupid?

I have memory loss, feeling stupid in general and had massive dizzy/blacking out spells. Turns out the dizzy spells are unrelated to surgery as I went and got myself labrynthitus (swelling in the inner ear) so it all adds to the VSG fun...still love my ((sleeve)) though
  12. OMG!! hope you ok. I am doing fine, my dizzy spells were down to Labrynthitus swelling in the inner ear, nothing to do with surgery at all, but they can't treat it as all the meds upset the stomach (typical) I was having trouble on the ole poop front myself, got some exlax chocolate and that seems to sort me out. The doc has sent me for bloods just to make sure there isn't anything more sinister going on, but other than that it is all good. Had a bit of a slimes/foamies then full on puking stage yesterday but that seems to have passed. Don't know whether it was a food intolerance, ate too quickly or too much...do you know the difference, didn't seem like I had eaten too much though lol.

  13. Thanks for that, will see if i can get hold of some in the UK. I figure any protein I can get in is better than none.
  14. Hey Thin, How did you get on at the docs, got them dizzy spells sorted out yet. Cyber hugs x.

  15. Hi, Apologies I am a complete newbie in terms of forums, blog sites etc. I posted the below as a reply initially as didn't know how to post, so please bear with me if you have already read it/responded to it. I've just been sleeved as well. Surgery was 23rd Feb 2010 so am now 11 days out. The surgeon said I should have 2-3 yoghurts and a good bit of Soup before they would let me out of hospital. They forgot this bit and let me out after 1 yoghurt, which took about an hour to eat. I am just able to sleep on my stomach now (as of last night), thankfully but not sleeping great anyway. Up til stupid oclock in the morning as just not tired. The acid reflux was horrendous at first and could not be controlled but now it has gone completely and it appears so has all the very uncomfortable gas. I am a little concerned as don't really know if i'm eating enough/too much. Not had any discomfort, should be on liquid for 14 days but was told to eat yoghurt, custard, jelly & Soups etc from day 1, but after 15 days of pre op liquids couldn't stomach any of these except the custard. I have been living on fruit juice and apple sauce with custard (without limit) and have had some ready brek for the last couple of days. I have never really had a "full" or heavy feeling. I am not making huge quantities but worried that this is not normal. I haven't felt hungry but do get an empty feeling. I am supposed to start mushies on Tuesday which I am pleased about as I think I am ready for some variety now. I am feeling a bit worried as I don't "feel" any different really. I did the first couple of days as it took about an hour to eat a yoghurt but now, no problem. I am also concerned that I lost 14lbs the first week after surgery and then...Nothing.Nada, Zilch. I have only been to the bathroom once since I had surgery as well (despite taking lactulose) Is this normal Further to this, I have to have DVT injections and I have been getting really cold since surgery, don't know if this is due to thinning of the blood or the reduction of the insulation. I was particularly cold today so opted for a nice hot bath this afternoon and when I got out and was drying myself off I went all light headed and the room started spinning. I had to go and lie down on the bed for about 10 minutes cos thought I was going to pass out. Loving this site been on here all day, it's very inspiring and we have nothing like this in the UK. I was told that I am the first to have a sleeve at the hospital I went to they only really do bands and bypasses. I did actually explain to one of the nurses what I was having done and why because she had never heard of it. Not very encouraging I have to say, however the surgeon I had is the best in the country thankfully.

    i need a buddy

I'm a daily weigher as well, always have been. I used to find if I didn't weigh myself daily I would gain, so by weighing myslef everyday I can see trends and keep the weight loss on track. Doesn't work for eveyone but I prefer to do it this way. I only record my weightloss/gain on one day (Tuesday) though.

Need Ideas to Jazz Up Shakes Plz

I was so pleased to have found the world according to egg face site, can not do Protein shakes at ALL! Thanks to this site, I have been putting the shakes into my ice cream maker and I admit I have a small amount of chocolate sauce on but have to say it is bearable. However, had to scrap that idea as 20 minutes after the protein, I had slimes for over 2 hours :scared0:...think I will just have to stick to food puree for my protein, darn it!

    Hiccups

I know what you mean last few days been getting pass out dizzy spells, when I get up too quick and just randomly too...and I get the hiccups. My appointment to see my surgeon is not for another 4 weeks (they only see you after the first 6 weeks here), so let me know what they say about your dizzy spells. Hope they get better for you soon x.
  22. Hey Xandria,

    10 days post op 2

Aww thank you Lan, just hope your right, hopefully that will soon be "past me". I already feel the new me personality is starting to come out, can't believe how much more positive I have been about myself since having the surgery (the future doesn't seem so bleak)...starting to wonder whether they gave me a phelbotomy at the same time :lol0:.
