Some Piercing pain 3 to 4 inches below the naval button
I had the exact same pain. And from what I had read on the forum directly after my surgery, it's pretty common. It will go away.

Fainting! Warning
FYI: You had a classic episode of dumping syndrome.

Tastes Change?
Thanks for the advice. I think I worry too much about getting all of the protein in. I need to relax.

Tastes Change?
I agree with Kelly. I was able to eat greek yogurt, protein supplements, etc prior to surgery. Now, I can't stomach any of it. It's pretty frustrating because I NEED to get the protein in.

Update after surgery
I did it. I had the lap band revised to gastric sleeve on thursday and all went well. I will admit that it was a difficult couple of days after but I can honestly say that each day gets so much better. The pain is much decreased to that I am rarely using my pain meds. I have much more energy (I even joked with my son that I am doing more things now than before my surgery), I am breathing easier and feel that i have a more positive outlook. i never in a million years would have thought that I would be saying that I have so much energy three days after surgery!!! My surgeon said there were no complications, only that I had a lot of scar tissue from my previous surgery. My inscisions look wonderful already and he ended up pulling my JP drain before I left the hospital on Saturday. I have to do a week of clears until I see him in follow up on friday and will probably advance me to full liquids then. I haven't weight myself since about a week pre-op--don't know why; I never was really a numbers person. More how I feel than a number, but I am curious how much weight loos is involved with two weeks of clears. I guess we'll see.

3 more days till surgery and feeling numb in the head
My surgery is tomorrow...I really thought that I would be more nervous than I am. I feel exactly the same way. your description is great, "mind-numbing" is spot on. It's like this is happening to someone else. Best of luck!

Today's the day (we get Sleeved!)
Best of luck to you both!! Wishing you a speedy and uneventful recovery

Should I tell people that I am getting WLS?
I didn't tell anyone about my surgery. I wouldn't tell them any other medical aspect of my life, why should this be any different. I can't help but think that people would treat me differently. I don't feel the need to explain my weight loss attempts and failures to the world. I'm a pretty private person. I just don't want the added stress. My husband and son are the only ones that know and that works fine for me. I think it just depends on your personality type. Best of luck on your weight loss jouney

Tomorrow's the day!!!
Well, it has been a long jouney but tomorrow is the day!!! I thought I'd be more nervous than I am. I'm sure it will all hit me on the way to the hospital in the am. They put me on a 5 day clear diet pre-op and I can honestly say these have been the longest 5 days of my life. Not sure it anyone else had to do clears. My surgery is a revision from the lap band 9 years ago to the sleeve. Not sure if anyone else has experience with this type of surgery. If so, any advice or input would be great. Oh well, gonna go pack my overnight bag. Wish me luck!
