  1. ...And don't forget ... you can always get hair from other places besides the head! :huh2:
  2. Keep in mind that hair tests will not detect or report Rx medications (I don't think). That's how my teen son got around it. (Thank goodness he's great now!) So if he's abusing Vicodin, I'm not sure that will get reported. I could be wrong.
  3. I think Sharona has been badgered quite enough now. Let's move on.
  4. Ohhhhhhh, no you don't!!! You can't just say "Oh, gee...I don't know WHY I'm losing all this weight!! The pounds are just melting off!!"....and not give us every single detail of your habits, routine and every morsel that crosses your lips!!! What are you thinking???
  5. I just looked at the "currently active users" on the home page. There were 1666 users currently active. 400-something members and 1200-something GUESTS!! Dang!! That seems like a LOT of guests!!
  6. Tracy - I hear you! I've toyed with the same thoughts too....going back to being less restricted but at least being able to eat healthier food. Let's see...I think my last fill was in the beginning of February...and I have been very tight most of this time. I do think my band is loosening up just a bit though so I'm going to tough it out a bit longer. I am really missing salads!! Kat - just think of all the things that cause headaches! It could be anything!! Your doctors are just being cautiously prudent...and that's a GOOD thing! My son was just complaining Sunday that he's woken up with a headache every day for a week. Dehydration, stress, clenched jaws, bad vision, allergies, new meds, too much computer work, change in barometric pressure, hormones, food additives and sensitivites,....blah blah blah!!! It could be any number of things! The probability of it being related to a tumor is way down the list. Michelle! Why are you still sick??!? Shouldn't you be better by now? Pammy - I'll be glad when this is over for you, too. Wish I was there to help you thru it...even if you are in the best of hands. Just know that we're all lovin' you. k? Hey!! I've got reason to Celebrate today!! We reached a performance threshhold at my company and we ALL get a 10% bonus!! Half of mine is going in the bank...the other half I'm going to spend on PS. I've decided to cut way back on my PS wish list, so that $ should cover it. Maybe. If we make the next hurdle we get a 40% bonus!!! Don't worry...I'll let you know if and when that happens! LOL
  7. Just popping in real quick! Been busy at home....been busy at work! Sheesh!! Kat...sorry about this latest development of yours. $20 says it is allergy related. Try not to worry. Yes, you can ship a box to me. I'll be bringing the Highlander...so should have enough room for just about anything.
  8. Jane- Well, that's an experience you're not likely to forget anytime soon! I think it's great to get out of your comfort zone every so often.... especially if you can laugh while doing it! That makes me think of the time DH and I went to New Orleans (my first time). We were walking around the Quarter and it started raining cats and dogs. So we stopped in one little place and had lunch and a couple glasses of wine. Then the sun broke for a little while...then it started raining again! Well, we happened to be right in front of Pat O'Brien's and went inside there in the dark bar.... we ended up having the best time with this young couple for at least 2-3 hours and I probably drank 4 more glasses of wine! Well, by the time we left there I was schnockered and it was dark out but we were having a ball. We ducked into a strip joint because I had never been to one and now suddenly had all this liquid courage in me....and we were in New Orleans after all! I won't go into details here but let me just say THAT was an experience I will never forget! COMPLETELY out of my comfort zone, will probably never do it again, but OMG....what a fun night!! The hurricane hit N.O. the next year and we haven't been back. I don't think I could take the heartbreak. I loved that town.
  9. :purplebananna: Can you get Bumble and Bumble??
  10. I zoned in on your 400 calories by 7:30p!? Why so little nourishment?
  11. Today? Ice cream and Cheetos.
  12. Judy, parasailing is an absolute HOOT!!! I think my heart stopped beating for a long time at first! It's just so unlike anything you've ever done. I was smiling and laughing so loud but nobody around to immediately share with...strange feeling. So I just started singing "Oh Susannah!" at the top of my lungs ... LOL!! The landing is the trickiest part but in good hands it's not a big deal at all....mine was very very smoothe. You will love it! My plastic surgery will not be until July 3rd... I have that 10 days already scheduled for vacation with no particular plans. Kids will be here to help me if I need it, too. I've got way too much going on in May and June to even think about doing it then. I am getting the jitters. I personally like my surgeon but suddenly feel that I'd like to talk to several former patients and really go thru his B&A photos. His training record is perfect... but, like I said....just getting the jitters. Also feeling VERY guilty for spending that kind of money on my vanity. Just wondering how wrong that is....or if I really have other priorities. In 10 years will I really be wishing I had that money back? Probably. This is not an easy decision. Not like with you girls' tummy tucks. This is pure vanity. I never have considered myself to be vain. Hell, I've always been 'the fat girl'! Who can be the fat girl and still be vain? Not me. But then on the flip side is the part of me that says I 'deserve it'. Yeah, but I spent $13K last year too! This is hard!!!!! Absolutely picture perfect day here today. Think I'll hop in the shower and get started with it!! TTYL!
  13. This is a good place to start...because you definitely want them to be certified by one or both of these boards: Find-A-Surgeon from The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery American Society of Plastic Surgeons: The resource for plastic and reconstructive surgery
  14. Haydee...LOL...any day that it's not lightening and thundering is a good golf day, you should know that from your Dad!! No, I tried to play but gave it up my first time on a real course. I had a blast at the driving range with DH giving me some instrux and I could whack the ball pretty good! But when it came time to keeping it in the fairway or getting it onto the green I was like "Oh f*** this!!" LOL Besides, I would be one of those people who only plays when it's 74 degrees and sunny! DH is playing 1-2x per weekend now....and I am home cleaning the garage, doing laundry and washing dishes! Hmmmm. What's wrong with this picture? S'ok...it makes him happy...and I only clean when I really feel like it! (so...like never!) Kat - Yeah, I would be sore from head to toe...but not for very long and I could be back to work in 10 days. I just looked over the wish list of procedures again and I think I will forego the lower lid correction and the lipo of the neck and jowels. If I do that I can save an extra $3000. So I'd get the eyelids done (a must), lipo on my tummy, and injections for wrinkles. Then in a couple of years I'll get a face lift and other stuff if I feel like I want it. That's where I am so far. I may have missed it...when are you going to get your surgery date???! If the doc says you can do it next week, could you?...i mean with your personal schedule? Oh, this is so exciting!!! MAN you're gonna look great!!!! Speaking of which....I've been meaning to check on losingjusme's thread to see how she's coming along.
  15. All this talk about antique video games is cracking me up. The first video game we owned was Atari (Pong & Frogger) and my HUSBAND (yes I was 30!) and I would play a round or two before bed every night. No wonder I didn't have kids 'til I was 32!
  16. Tracy, if PS is anything like lapband approvals then the story is to appeal, appeal, appeal!!! You might have to appeal 5x, but you might just wear them down! I think that they deny 1/2 the people just hoping that they 'go away'....and probably most do! We'll be here to get you thru it and encourage you ALL THE WAY to the operating table!!! Not sure what I'm gonna do today. I know I've got to work on some jewelry and we might ride out to Bentwater later....that's about it as far as plans go! Nice to be able to play it by ear. Hope you enjoy your day with the kids!! Why don't ya'll pack a picnic lunch and go to the park or the zoo? For being a sick person you sure do have a LOT on your list, girlfriend!!! You're gonna be sick like a dog if you try to do all that today!!! If you want to go out tonight, you better rest, don't you think?? Gawd, I used to get strep throat ALL THE TIME when I was a kid...I think I'm immune to all of those germs now! I made it thru fall and winter without getting sick once. I feel so lucky considering how sick my Violets have been! Ya'll have a good day. I need to go hammer some silver for a bit. Love ya! T.
  17. Hi everyone... Well, doesn't sound like ya'll are having 'wonderful' days!! Must be the moon phase or something. I'm doing OK 'cept that I chewed my daughter's head off for wanting to take her dance dress back!!! Other than that, I went to the PS and here's what he suggests: Blepheroplasty (eyelid surgery) to remove excess skin Lower eyelids too, to improve the bags starting to form lipsuction on my tummy liposuction on my double chin botox on my brow restalayne (sp?) around my mouth All this for about $10K if I pay cash and have the surgery before 7/31. I think I'm all over it but have to sleep on it for a few. With my son heading for college, I'm not sure I should really part with the money. But on the other hand, I really want this. <sigh>
  18. Ditto what Wheetsin said... yes, I think you can count on your feet beginning to shrink at about 35-40# loss
  19. Chocolate can be irritating if you have reflux... might want to check with your doctor!
  20. when your doctor tells you it's OK!
  21. Haydee - You are so sweet!! I feel the same way about you. I just wish we could get together more often (than once a year)!!! Go to the LBT home button, the scroll down to the doctors and hospitals forum (i think that would be a good place). Once you are ini there you'll see a button that says "New Thread".... and you're done!
  22. Q-bert? Rings a tiny bell, but....no.
  23. I am up at 4:00a....on my day OFF!! I never sleep well when I've had cocktails. Last night I went out with my girlfriends and had only 2 glasses of wine. It doesn't take much to ruin my night's sleep. Tracy, curious... do you find that you're sleeping better since you quit smoking? I did! Hey!! Today is my Bandiversary!! Like Pam, I'm a little disappointed...but mostly I'm pretty darn happy. I'm not disappointed in the band. It has definitely done what it promised to do! Actually, I am quite happy just because I can fit into normal size clothes and look halfway decent in them...nothing like those extra 35# did to me. If I never lost another pound I'd be quite content. I have no regrets at all. Kat - I'm so happy to hear that you're determined to make the trip come hell or high water. Of course I would never recommend that you toob but the float is only a couple of hours (some can go longer if they want) and you may need the extra rest anyway. Man, you are gonna be ONE HOT CHICK. I can't wait to see you!!!!!!! I've got another PS consult today...this time I'm going to also discuss lipo on my tummy. I probably could use a TT but not willing to go thru all that since I don't have a pannus (sp?). Hell, I could use everything, but I'm thinking brow lift (a must), botox and lipo. That should fix me up for a couple of years. Michelle - I'm proud of you for crawling into bed the other night instead of into the cookie jar. You did real good, girlfriend. Way to go.
  24. Pammy - HAPPY BANDIVERSARY!! Look at it this way: How much would you have weighed today if you hadn't gotten the band??? I don't know about you, but i know for a fact I would be 10#+ heavier than my starting weight (215) a year ago....so 225...with nothing but gaining in my future. THAT is a bleak thought....and I celebrate every day that I'm not gaining and gaining and gaining anymore. Youre doing just fine!!!!
  25. Hi Everyone! Kat!!! I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited for you!!!! I can't wait 'til you get your date...then we can have another countdown! This doesn't mean you're going to bug out on the trip, does it?? Well, you do whatever you have to do...we all know how much this means to you! MAN! What a busy day I had today!! Worked on all those dang slides this morning...ate lunch at my desk. Then hit the pavement looking for a venue for our Xmas party (I plan those for my company). Normally I have this done by January but I've been very lazy. BIG mistake. Anyway, hit 4-5 places between here and downtown. Then went to visit my mom for a couple hours. Then met my son and his girlfriend for dinner. THEN went to the grocery store...and I'm just now getting home. Sheesh! The good news is that I did find an excellent venue for the party....I was really getting panicky!!! Now, to see if my 1st choice band is still available. I hate Christmas....and this is why. Bah Humbug.:tt2: Laura, thanks for that list. I actually copied that into my 'blog' here on LBT when I was a fresh little bandster so I am familiar with that great post. HOWEVER, in review, I think I flunked with flying colors. I am able to eat better this last week, so I'm very hopeful that my band has loosened up a bit so that I can get back to some protein and veggies...rather than oatmeal, cottage cheese, soup and ice cream!!:huh2: Haydee - I was wearing 18's at 215#...so you're doing better than I was! I'm in a snug 14 now (some 16's) at 180. TracyinKS is wearing 10-12 at that same weight!! It's crazy! You are so pretty and wear such cute clothes... don't worry about it!! You'll get there! I'll see ya'll in the morning! G'night!
