  1. Ohh my goodness! I have not had a slip yet but I am sure it will eventually happen. I am 11 months into the band. I too would feel the same emotions you are feeling at this moment. Please keep me posted as you will be in the back of my mind. I think I have had 4 fills & they put me on that x ray machine each time they fill me and make me drink that stuff to watch it going down the throat. I do think I tore my hyateal (sp) hernia (sp) that was fixed during the surgery as I have felt a pop too when getting sick because I ate too much too fast.... I get my next fill 7/18. Please keep me posted on all. I am thinking about you and sending positive thoughts your way. Best, Karen

  3. I got banded 8 mo. ago. I have been able to eat all the foods I like in a fair amount except for bread. My 3rd and last adjustment has made it a lot more hard. Its like I have now a little pouch that fills up with food & then travels up my throat forcing me to stop eating. I have ate such a small portion of food! Could this finally be working? This is what I have wanted. I wanted to get to a point where I didnt live to eat any longer, I wanted it to be difficult. Now my brain automatically looks for the smallest sometimes items healthier food choices because its easier to eat & I can get it over with. Could it finally be working?
  4. What does that mean? Just reading what you said I think you & I have had similar experiences. I have been banded since July 29th of last year. I have had 3 adjustments. I keep saying to myself could this adjustment be it? Can this finally curve the amount of food and what I am eating? Is this what you mean too?
  5. 14TH DAY POST SURGERY. I AM DOWN 14 LBS. I CAN EAT EVERYTHING BUT BREAD PRODUCTS. I NEED TO HAVE A FILL. I HAVE TO WAIT FOR 2 MORE WEEKS. I AM REALLY HAPPY SO FAR.
  6. Great! How is the hunger etc? Does it hurt to pull yourself up out of bed ? Have you driven yet? quote name='amiller1010' timestamp='1308849306' post='1629773'] Hey everyone I was banded on the 20th and am so happy I did it. I was really scared, but it hasn't been as bad as I expected. My pain isn't even that bad. I haven't even taken my pain meds all day yay!
  7. There are many in HB & FV. I will have to get their names. I would strongly reccomend you go to UC Irvine. You can cut all of the BS of fees & insurance padding by going there. It will make your life so much easier. Good Luck! Karen
  8. It sounds like you went to the OBAND center right?
  9. Congratulations! Today your new journey begins! I wont be too far behind you.
  10. No I have not heard of the NEW program. I did really like the facility in Tustin called the 0Band center. I have elected to go there, no hidden fees so far. Now we will wait & see when my insurance gives the final ok, Crossing my fingers....
  11. I havent even had my operation yet & I feel better. I need to keep you around.
  12. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just picked my surgeon yesterday so now I am waiting for a surgery date. Please keep us updated on every thing! I was told about the gas & walking. How are you feeling? How did you sleep last night? Does it hurt to walk or sit?

Yikes, do I have a lot to learn. Any one remember Phen Fen? I didnt care about eating anymore back then. Food had no control over me any more. That is what I am hoping this surgery will do for me.... I want to be able to eat a food that I dont really care about that has the most bang for all the nutriants I need per meal & be done with it.... Has it worked like this for anyone that has already had this procedure done?
  14. Hi everyone. I am getting so darn antzy. I have seen one surgeon so far & I see one in Tustin tomorrow. I then have one more interview set up at UCI a week from Thur. I want to get this show on the road & get this over with.... I keep wondering whats behind door number 2, I am talking about the jacked up fees. I had to cancel out on Dr. Oliak since my out of pocket was going to be $5500 & my insurance covers everything! I find that I am eating everything in sight, I cant get full enough... I dont know why I am doing this. I just want to get on with it.... I am also having a difficult time researching the OBand surgery center in Tustin. I cant find anything on it.
  15. Because of you I have called UCI. 5/17th is my appt. with Dr. Nguyen! THANK YOU!!!!!!! How are you doing so far?
  16. Hi! I am brand new to this blog. I had my very first consult yesterday & was going through the exact same concerns & questions as you. I couldnt sleep. I just found your original post & felt so NOT alone! You & I must live in the same area because I met with Dr. Oliak yesterday & my out of pocket fees will be $5500.00. They will charge me 3500 for the program fee. I have a PPO. Because of your post I was able to read others that have had the same experience so now I am going to contact UCI. I dont see any recent posts from you or I just dont know how to use this site. Did you find someone? Did you get it done yet?
