One year has past!! On 7/15/11 (A WHOLE YEAR!) I had weight loss surgery (Gastric Band), it was one of the best decisions I could have made. On the day of surgery I weighed in at 308 lbs, I'm currently down 64 lbs and 4 pant sizes, I have 64 lbs to go ...until my goal weight. it has been a tough year but it was all worth it. Although I have a ways to go I am so happy with my results so far. Now do I like exercising?! Negative! But it is what I HAVE to do, it's a new way of life for me, I accept it. I am healthier both physically and mentally and can't wait to reach my goal! Here's to the next year and me hitting my ultimate goal weight of 180!! Happy Bandiversary to me!!

Im told what I feel by my port incision is not the port but scar tissue, my port has moved with weight loss, its higher up on my abdomen.

I have three incisions,one higher up closer to my breast where where im told my port is,then two lower one larger than the other

I was banded one week ago and had all the same issues but they are normal and it does get better, im feeling so much better just a week later. Just rest and take it slow. I just ate broth and any soup in the blender and popsicles are my bff! Good luck!

I've been given the ok to advance to pureed foods! I'm so excited to have pureed eggs and potatoes! Yumm! Banded one week Fri and 25lbs down!

Im down 24lbs since my preop diet started July 5th! Banded on July 15th!

Well I did and everything went well, Im able to drink without a problem but i am very weak and dizzy and am only able to sit up for an hour or two and then have to lay down, anyone else have his problem? I really want to get up and moving.

I was banded yesterday as well,I was in alot of pain last night mostly at my port site, im up and moving around,i did have a little bleeding this am,i feel like i did 1000 crunches. I have no problem drinking thank god. Im glad its done! Glad you're well Shauna

Im getting banded tomorrow! Finally excited to have reached the end of this pre op diet! 14lbs lost in 9 days! Wohoo,my new life awaits,thank you all for encouraging words.wish me luck!

My surgery is this Friday and yesterday it really hit me that im doing this,im feeling so much anxiety that it thought about cancelling it, I know this feeling is normal but thats not helping. Any advice?

Hello there, my surgery date is July 15 so I figured id better get started on some shopping, so when i got to the vitamin aisle i was overwhelmed with all the choices of protein powder and vitamins to choose from, could some one point me in the right direction,thanks!

Wow congrats! Im so excited for my surgery next month!

I too am worried about restaurant eating, and exercise,but im more worried that im no longer going to be able to drink with my meals and have to wait 30min before or after, being that im so used to that its going to be a tough one for me.
