  1. Same as yours- sore if I poke at it, sore if I bend, a little sore still if I lay on that side. Does seem to be feeling better every day though- yours?
  2. I've been doing mostly well, except I'm not feeling so... peppy. I was warned that before you can go back to solids, you might feel weak or tired because you're not getting a lot of nutrition in. I guess that's the case with me! I've been following my plan (2nd week= full liquids) and I've also been journaling and it's odd to see how few calories I'm taking in every day. I guess once I move back to food I'll be taking in more. Good thing is I'm really not too hungry- when I get hungry, I "eat" a Protein shake or a sugar-free pudding and I'm good. It's a little weird I'm not used to not being hungry!
  3. Congrats to both of you! You'll be sore for a while, but yes, MAKE SURE you're getting your fluids in even if you're not hungry. If you end up dehydrated you'll feel 10 times worse! My appetite came back 6 days after surgery- FYI!
  4. Does your primary doc know about your surgery? You shouldn't take any NSAIDs if you've got a band.
  5. None- I had a scopalamine patch (sp?) behind my ear from early that morning, but I'm usually OK with meds. Make sure you talk to the anesthesiologist when they meet with you before surgery and make it very clear that you and codeine do not get along!
  6. Congrats! Yeah, I'd say your experience with the egg salad is pretty normal. I hope you're feeling better soon!
  7. Once my info was submitted to the insurance company they approved me within 2 or 3 working days BUT that was after they mandated that I remain in the practice for 6 months before surgery, so. I had no idea any insurance, or any practice, would approve within a month of starting!
  8. Yes, heating pad, and wave your arms in the air like a chicken. I know I know but it helps.
  9. I gained 10 pounds in fluid in the hospital and didn't lose it for almost a week after surgery. Don't beat yourself up.
  10. Are you still drinking protein drinks and if so do you mix them in a blender?
  11. Wow, what a scary story. I think you'll have a totally different band experience this time around!
  12. LOL! Well if you're gonna be self pay and she's not super helpful, I wouldn't tell her until after it's over, but that's just me and not at all sound medical advice.
  13. Hi Faith! I CAN NOT IMAGINE doing the liquid pre-op diet, not for one week, sure as heck not for three weeks. That's AMAZING that you haven't cheated once Must make you feel like you know you'll succeed after surgery, since you have shown such amazing self control!
  14. I'm so sorry Mandy, I hope they figure this out soon so you can feel better and get back on track!
  15. Oh also, there are sub-forums here for people who have problems with their band or had to have their band removed- if you want to her from those who have issues, that'd be a good place to get info. I read in there a lot.
  16. Mmm hmm what Sgt just said. It does NOT do the work for you. It is NOT the easy way out. People who go into the surgery expecting a quick fix will fail. You'll see the failure stats but you won't see WHY each of those people failed the band. Some people do have problems with it, yes. But plenty of people also don't put in the work and then are disappointed by their results.
  17. Aww, congratulations! I keep checking back on your original thread for updates. I hope her response is even better than you hoped!
  18. Daily?!? Let's see, I'm 8 days past surgery so... 1.275 pounds a day. Yeah, I'm sure it'll keep up at that rate LOL!
  19. I'm still on full liquids so it'll be herbal tea, water, 3 protein shakes, 1 yogurt, 1 cup of soup, and maybe 1 sugar-free pudding. Wheee!
  20. Sounds like you need an un-fill! Call your doctor and see if they can fit you in earlier. Seems like sometimes even a small bit of fluid out makes all the difference.
  21. I'm sorry, you must feel miserable I'm thinking maybe you've still got a good amount of swelling and that's what's causing the feeling of a burp that is "stock". Have you tried heating pads on your back or chest? I agree, too, about calling your doctor if you're in a lot of pain. I hope you wake up tomorrow and begin to feel loads better!
  22. Yeah, it's amazing how the feelings in your stomach change, huh? I had to do a full week of clears, 1 week of full liquids, and it's hard but I'm glad I'm doing it. No wonder if anything's not going through
  23. I wonder if the pill that got stuck began to dissolve where it was stuck, and it irritated your stomach? I'd say go back to liquids AND call your doctor- I know you don't want an un-fill but you also don't want to regret any permanent damage you could have avoided, you know?
