1 week pre op, 4 weeks post op, 8 weeks post op.
  2. Just a quick update. I just finished week 8 post-op. It hasn't been easy. I struggle with getting my required fluids and Protein on a daily basis. Everyday is a learning process but I'm glad to be on the journey. I lost 15 lbs pre-op on my 7 day liquid diet. I have lost 35 since surgery 8 weeks ago. I did have a 2 week stall on my third week. My favorite thing to drink is ice cold Water....I hated water before surgery. I haven't started a work out routine yet. I'm trying to find the energy. I'm posting my progress pics, please forgive the horrible hair as the pics are taken before I get ready for work.

    Starting Week 9

Thanks everyone. I'm finally starting to see a difference. It's hard to tell while you're going through it at first. I think it took me at least 35 lbs before there was any significant change in my clothing size. I wish everyone luck on your journey. It is definitely worth it.

  6. Thanks everyone! I swear it took me 3 weeks to finish that thing. Everything is going well and I will be updating again soon! PS....yes...I walked back to my room. It wasn't far, trust me!
  7. Hello Everyone! I finally finished writing down my experience with going to Mexico for my WLS. I'm keeping my updates on my blog so come check it out if you're interested. Suddenly Tammy
  8. OK, I couldn't wait any longer. I have to see who else is scheduled for October. The closer it gets the more I'm looking forward to the surgery. Well, not the actual surgery.......but you understand what I mean. Is anyone going to have surgery in Tijuana on the 11th? I'm looking forward to possibly meeting someone from the message board during my trip. I know that I will be at the same recovery house that is used by Dr. Almanza. I keep thinking about all of the NSV's I'm looking forward to happening. I swear everyday I think of a new one. Today's is .....looking forward to not being so sweaty all of the time. :001_tongue:
  9. Hey Girl...back at home...woohoo!! Still trying to adjust to the new tummy but I'm sure I'll get there. Loved seeing you and hope you are doing well.

  10. Hello...Thanks for the well wishes. Doing alright, just taking some time to adjust to the new tummy!

  11. Glad to hear you are doing well. Congratulations on the weight loss. I just want this week to be over so I can start my journey.

  12. Day 3....wicked headache that will not go away :(

  13. Wow! Choosing a doctor to use in Mexico is difficult. I have literally been obsessed with looking up everything I can on the internet. I have narrowed it down to Dr. Alamanza or Dr. Juan Ponce de Leon. If anyone has any "new" experiences they would like to share I would be very grateful. I have questions about flying after the surgery. I am flying in from Orlando, Florida to San Diego and then being transported to Tijuana. I also need to know if I have to get a hotel room before the surgery or if I can fly in that day and have surgery that afternoon? I'm so nervous. I need to make a decision by Monday and schedule the surgery. I also need to apply for my first passport on Monday. I wish there was some sort of support group here locally. I love that I found this site though. Any and all help would be appreciated.
  14. No problem. I'm very much looking forward to getting this over with and being on my way!
  15. Day 2 of the liquids....blech.

  16. just checking in to see how things are going with you!

  17. deleted...thanks!

  18. Sounds good, what time do you think you'll get there?

  19. I start my pre-op liquid diet this Friday. It's mostly clear liquid for 10 days. It's going to suck it!

  20. we are staying at the hampton inn. we get in around 10am on Sunday. Our flight leaves on Thursay at 1:37pm Western Time and we get in to Orlando at 12am Eastern Time. We have a layover in Atlanta for almost 2 hours. My mom thinks I should ask for a wheelchair coming back. I'm not sure I'm going to need it though.

  21. I'm bringing my mother. I can share her though! :) Are you staying in San Diego the night before?

    Oral Contraceptives - B.C. Pills

Hey Tiff! I recently stopped smoking (a little over 4 months ago). I can honestly say that I could not have done it without chantix. It's like some miracle drug. I did not experience any crazy side effects. I had vivid dreams that I could remember and that's about it. It did not take away my desire to smoke, it took away my NEED to smoke. It was the best decision I have ever made. I weighed all of the potential negative side effects and decided for myself that they did not outweigh all of the negatives that come with smoking. I was on chantix for about 4 weeks, and I stopped smoking at around 2.5 weeks. I'm not saying it's for everyone, but it may be worth the try. But only when you are ready and willing. Good luck!
  23. Hi Kerri! Sorry I didn't respond earlier, I just got back from vacation. I'm excited to know someone from the board that will be getting surgery at the same time with the same doctor. Are you bringing anyone with you?

  24. I am scheduling my sleeve surgery with Dr. Alamanza in Tijuana and would love a mentor that shares this experience to keep me from freaking out that I'm going to a foreign country to have surgery. Any help is welcomed :thumbup1:
