  1. Thanks everyone. I'm finally starting to see a difference. It's hard to tell while you're going through it at first. I think it took me at least 35 lbs before there was any significant change in my clothing size. I wish everyone luck on your journey. It is definitely worth it.
  2. Just a quick update. I just finished week 8 post-op. It hasn't been easy. I struggle with getting my required fluids and Protein on a daily basis. Everyday is a learning process but I'm glad to be on the journey. I lost 15 lbs pre-op on my 7 day liquid diet. I have lost 35 since surgery 8 weeks ago. I did have a 2 week stall on my third week. My favorite thing to drink is ice cold Water....I hated water before surgery. I haven't started a work out routine yet. I'm trying to find the energy. I'm posting my progress pics, please forgive the horrible hair as the pics are taken before I get ready for work.

Pictures of weight loss every month, including 1 week pre-op.
  4. Thanks everyone! I swear it took me 3 weeks to finish that thing. Everything is going well and I will be updating again soon! PS....yes...I walked back to my room. It wasn't far, trust me!
  5. Hello Everyone! I finally finished writing down my experience with going to Mexico for my WLS. I'm keeping my updates on my blog so come check it out if you're interested. Suddenly Tammy
  6. No problem. I'm very much looking forward to getting this over with and being on my way!
  7. Hey Tiff! I recently stopped smoking (a little over 4 months ago). I can honestly say that I could not have done it without chantix. It's like some miracle drug. I did not experience any crazy side effects. I had vivid dreams that I could remember and that's about it. It did not take away my desire to smoke, it took away my NEED to smoke. It was the best decision I have ever made. I weighed all of the potential negative side effects and decided for myself that they did not outweigh all of the negatives that come with smoking. I was on chantix for about 4 weeks, and I stopped smoking at around 2.5 weeks. I'm not saying it's for everyone, but it may be worth the try. But only when you are ready and willing. Good luck!
  8. Thanks Tiffy! Is there any difference between the prescription and the OTC meds?
  9. I'm confused about the difference between acid reducers. What exactly is a PPI? Is this an OTC medication or do I need a prescription? Why do some people take multiple kinds. Please help this ignoramus. Mucho Appreciated!:001_rolleyes:
  10. My pre-op diet is liquid. Anyone else? I have a cruise next week and will be going hardcore dieting until I begin my liquids on October 2nd.
  11. I am just the opposite. I can be a 24 in waist and a 18/20 in butt and hips. It is the suck for sure either way!
  12. funny.....I would totally feel the same. I had my first boobiegram last week and was enough uncomfortable when she picked up my boob and my fat stomach to move them. Never gain will someone have to pick up by stomach. I swear!
  13. Christie, you are such a beautiful girl. You are beautiful on the inside which makes the outside even that much more extraordinary. I can relate to the self-sabotage. I have previously lost weight and was down to 201 lbs. I must have freaked out being so close to onederland that I immediately started gaining weight after that. I'm looking forward to tackling some of those mental issues that we all deal with. Congratulations on all of your success. You deserve it!
  14. OK, I couldn't wait any longer. I have to see who else is scheduled for October. The closer it gets the more I'm looking forward to the surgery. Well, not the actual surgery.......but you understand what I mean. Is anyone going to have surgery in Tijuana on the 11th? I'm looking forward to possibly meeting someone from the message board during my trip. I know that I will be at the same recovery house that is used by Dr. Almanza. I keep thinking about all of the NSV's I'm looking forward to happening. I swear everyday I think of a new one. Today's is .....looking forward to not being so sweaty all of the time. :001_tongue:
  15. I'm scheduled with him for October 11th!
  16. Congratulations!!! Good luck on your journey.
  17. Hello everyone! I am scheduled for my sleeve on October 11th. Woohoo! Problem is that I'm going on a cruise on September 11th and I have nothing to wear and refuse to buy anything new because I don't want to invest any money in something I'm not going to be able to wear for very long. I am a size 24 or 3X in shirts and a 26/28 in pants. I don't even have an acceptable bathing suit. My current one is a tankini. The bottoms are great but the top got messed up in the laundry. Any help is appreciated.
  18. Hello everyone! I am scheduled to be sleeved on October 11th. I plan on getting in to a normal work our routine at least 5 days per week. When I've worked out before, I've done the interval training and really push myself with the cardio. My question is....When I am done with my workout I cannot drink enough water fast enough. How is this going to work after the sleeve? Is sipping going to "cut" it?
  19. Good to hear everything went well Rebecca!!!! I'm very afraid of being too nauseated. I'm anxious by nature though, which doesn't help.
  20. Isn't my roommate the best? I thought it would be awesome if us "Floridians" had our own forum. Let's all meet up in http://verticalsleevetalk.com/usa-local-vsg-support/8075-florida-sleevers.html. We still need to plan on meet and greet post surgery party!!!
  21. If anyone knows how, they should set up a Florida group on the forum where the different countries are. I don't know how. I could ask my roommate and see if he knows.
  22. Awesome! How was the recovery house? Did you bring someone with you, and if so, were they able to stay in the house? Any issues with nausea? I always get sick after surgery so I'm way nervous about losing my cookies.
  23. Ah Yes, I remember...South Beach.... We will definitely have to get together after our surgeries. I live in Palm Bay. I know your surgery is coming up. Any progress with getting the husband back on board?
