  1. Thanks everyone. Well, I am not going to worry about trying them until I get home after surgery, figure I have no idea what my tastes will be after the sleeve. I also bought dutch chocolate EAS RTD protein shakes and will try those after my clear liquid phase. I also have the cookies and cream powder from GNC, still not as educated on what all of this protein lingo is but I trust that this fastly approaching start to my new life will be an education unlike any other!
  2. Sorry to hear that you all have experienced that. This makes me wonder if I should go ahead and notify my employer that I will work from home the week following surgery. I am uncomfortable enough being the weight I am and my tight clothing, I do not want to have to deal with that returning to work.
  3. Thanks everyone, it's like Christmas Eve lasting for days! I am ready!!!
  4. Scheduled for May 10th with Dr. Aceves. Although I have a full time job and care for three children, my mind has had so much time lately to think and rethink! Today I find myself wondering if I made the right decision on the doctor I am going to. I know I had a clear head and researched my choice, it has to just be this waiting game that is making me crazy!!! If I had enough leave I would seriously take the rest of the week off! I am just no good right now! I leave Saturday to go to my Mom's house and then Sunday heading to San Diego, the weather is showing thunderstorms at the airport I fly out of on Saturday, wondering if I should change my flight and leave on Friday, I can't chance missing the flight to San Diego Sunday morning. I am one big bunch of nerves! Usually very cool headed but the time factor is getting to me!!!
  5. No opinion yet but would like to try them, where are you getting the OhYeah RTD shakes?
  6. I completely understand your fears as a single parent and respect your reservations. I will have surgery on Monday, May 10th. I encourage you to get to know the folks here, less than a month ago I found this forum and it has been a true education. I can't wait to "join the ranks". I invite you to come and chat sometimes and ask all the questions you have... I do not know if you are a religious person but just wanted to say I will pray for you and your children. I am a single parent with 3 kids, all things are possible and my children ARE my #1 motivation! God Bless and glad you are here!
  7. Oh and yes I had a great time! But I will not miss being able to drink that much! Heehee...
  8. Thank you for all of you veteran Sleevers for continuing to post your progress! Just 7 days away from my surgery and this REALLY helps calm my nerves reading these wonderful true life stories! Congrats to all and see you on the other side soon!
  9. You will be in my thoughts tomorrow morning! My surgery is on May 10th so I will be just 7 days behind you! Wishing you a speedy recovery!
  10. Well I am headed out tonight for one last night of cold beverages and food with friends and I sure needed it! Husband has the kids and I am going to enjoy some adult time! It is about 90 degrees out right now and left the house wearing a black sweater that stretches. My husband asked why I would wear a sweater when it is so hot, made tears come to my eyes, he just doesn't get it. He hugged me by and squeezes my back fat, he really does not get it! Thank you for loving me unconditionally but I don't love myself, don't TELL me it is ok! SO..... I am having a nice tall beer and gonna promise myself that I will have a good time AND I will not tell anyone here what I am about to do, will do that after it is all over with! 9 more days!!!!!!! PS it is chilly in the bar even with the sweater and back fat so I made the right choice regardless!
  11. Oh, one more thing!!! I totally notice that you did not just choose a little black dress which is one way I tend to minimize my size right now.... You are WEARING COLOR!!! Just beautiful!
  12. Congrats Girl!!! Please keep us posted! Can't wait to be 'just like you'!!!!
  13. Hey Happy, I love the screen name, mine will change to that AFTER my surgery, I am sure! Right now, I am STILL sickofrollercoaster!
  14. I bought the Variety Pack today at GNC. I got the bottles out and put in the fridge. Says to shake well. There is some "mucus" looking stuff floating around in each one, anyone drink these? Is this normal? Am I not "shaking well" if i can still see it.
  15. Congrats Girl, it must feel AMAZING! Like they say, "NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS THIN FEELS" Celebrate your success, I know we all do right along with you!
  16. Good evening everyone! I talked with Nina about a spinal block and she did say that it was done after you are sedated and that it is done to help in recovery. She said that doing so helps patients get up and get moving much sooner and it decreases complications (I assume from patients getting up and moving!). I have had two spinal blocks for birthin' my babies and although I hate needles, they were ok. So I figure if I am alseep, I really do not care AND if it helps recovery I am all for that. I will definitely talk with the professionals once I get there the day before surgery but right now I am leaning towards having it done.
  17. Tiffy, you made me cry... I have felt all of those pre-op things you have, I was pregnant twice, once with twins and Totally miserable! I am so happy that you will get to experience pregnancy from a different perspective, a healthy one! I will not have any more children but look forward to looking the way I feel inside. I can't wait to start my journey, my fears are just as everyone's are I think, can I do this? Will I see results? I am a "lightweight", can I still reach my goal? Thanks for sharing! YOU LOOK AMAZING! And not just the clothes talking, it shows in your face just how happy you are! Congrats! You did it!
  18. SWIFT!!!! Wow those must be some GOOD Drugs!!! SO good to hear from you!!!!! I hope everything went well! And Thanks, can't get that song out of my head now! I'll be singing it when I wake up from surgery in 12 days!
  19. yes, my respect for any of our celebrities goes way up when they go "over" to support our troops... god bless him and his family...
  20. Stacey, I can't believe it is already 6 days out! Seems like time just flies once you are sleeved! While I am on the other side waiting!!! SO GLAD to hear you are doing well!!! YOU deserve it!
  21. So the spinal block is optional? I have had many surgeries and have a high tolerance for pain, only time i had the block was for C-sections so that i could be awake of course. The ONLY issues I have ever had with surgery is when they wake me from surgery, I get nauseous. They usually give me phenergan which works great but knocks me back out for a couple more hours.
  22. Thank you! Well I have had two spinal blocks with the two c-sections I had, was not a good experience at all! So I get another ativan on the morning of surgery? I also hate IVs so you see where I am going with this??? Thanks so much for the reassurance, promise my nerves will get worse BEFORE it gets better!
  23. Ugh Spinal Block? So they do not just take you under with the IV in your hand? Getting nervous now!
  24. I LOVE SONIC ICE!!! I will have to make sure I have some when I get home from surgery. Really sucks that my plane gets in after midnight... I will be SO tired!
