  1. I've been taking my daily dose of Nexium that Dr. Aceves sent home with me, so I don't think it's an acid issue.
  2. I am sooo looking forward to mushy foods. Even a glass of milk sounds good right now, but Dr. Aceves is very adamant about following the post-op guidelines, and I'd hate to cause any kind of problems by not following them, but I am having some serious energy level deficiencies (especially with 3 boys under 7) and feeling generally crappy. I sent an e-mail to the dr's office, so i'll post what he says when i get a reply.
  3. I was sleeved on may 11th and am on day 6 of the clear liquid phase. I'm not having any problem getting enough fluids or Protein, but i am having severe hunger pangs. They are bad enough to be recognized as real hunger and not "head" hunger, and have kept me awake for the past couple of nights. Med*fast and Atk*ns shakes have seemed to help alleviate hunger when i was doing these diets in the past, but do they qualify as Clear liquids? Oh, and I've lose 8 lbs since surgery, for a total of 15 since my 10-day pre-op diet.Yeah!!!
  4. Hi All!!! So I've been a lurker for a while, and now I just wanted to post my experience thus far in my WLS journey. Last Thursday, 4-22 I filled out some online forms for info about 3 different surgeons---two about 1 1/2 hours away from my hometown and one for Dr. Aceves in MX. And guess whose office responded almost immediately? Yup. Lucy sent me an e-mail with pricing info (literally 1/2 the cost of U.S. sleeve even with plane tickets) just 1 hr later. I have yet to hear from anyone else. It doesn't matter now, though. About 7:30 that evening i phoned Dr. Aceves' office expecting to get a voice message with office hours so that i could call back in the morning (it was 5:30 in MX) Well Lucy picked up and much to my surprise i was able to schedule my appt for 11th May!!! After reading all the positive info on this site and others about Dr. Aceves, I am completely confident about my decision to travel out of the states for the sleeve. Now my only problem is this extreme case of IMPATIENCE, but this too shall pass, right? I feel like a prisoner waiting to get out of jail and start a new, better life. I'm almost dizzy with excitement and I'm completely enamored with the staff at Dr. Aceves' office, and i haven't met any of them. I can't imagine how i will feel after i actually go through my sleeve experience.
