  1. And I have nothing to hide either. I get it now PNW218. So you got one or more surgeries via Jerusalem/Emmanuel so that is why you are so defensive about this. You don't care that Betancourt isn't a doctor but he says he is. I will not war with you either, in fact I am done. Many places in the U.S. and Mexico are doing hundreds of VSG's without issues for months. The place that you defend are doing 12 a day in the same OR and are having major problems. Go ahead defend if you like, but why? I think maybe you are working for them. Oh, if I found out the place I had my VSG got sloppy and were having major problems coming out of there I sure wouldn't defend them!
  2. Responding to what LAN2K said yes people are afraid to speak up. I was on the another board and they are speaking out and some are doing something about the bad practices so I feel relieved. I know some that a talked to personally were threatened and told never come back to Mexico. Sounding an alarm and drawing attention to this may help others avoid pain and suffering. I had someone on another board who did post her story after my post and the poor soul had racked up $250,000 in the U.S. afterwords because she was messed up. Those that are going to have procedures BEWARE and ask around!
  3. That is why I started this post this in hope that those that have been mistreated will SPEAK UP! Unfortunately the ones that have a bad experience most of the time DO NOT speak up. Notice the title of the post: Speak up those with leaks & infections! If your mother, friend, neighbor, uncle or spouse had a bad experience you could not say anything because it would be hearsay. So let me say it again clearly if any out there know of those that have had bad experiences encourage them to come forward so it won't be heresy and we can save others of pain and misery.
  4. I have been sleeved myself since march 16th down over 20lbs and feeling like my body is back to normal so to speak. In the last few weeks I have come to understand that its possible to go to a clinic that doesn't take proper precautions and many are having leaks and infections. One lady I heard ran up a $285,000 hospital bill in the U.S. after her lowest price sleeve turned into a night mare. Another lady I talked to quit one clinic she worked at that had many leaks and infections. She also told me that these same people that got mistreated DON'T speak up about it afterward. Please if you have had a bad experience speak up! When a lot of these are coming out of the same place we should be able to collectively do something about it! I feel so bad that there are many people going to places (with lowest VSG price) that are ramming people through without proper care (because they are doing 12 per day in the same O.R) and then ending up with leaks, infections and feeding tubes, man this is so bad!!! Please lets do something about this to save the misery of others.
  5. Hi I am sleeved from March16th. It is great! The first day it was rough but after that a breeze. It is nice not being able to eat much and being satisfied. I am done 20lbs already. You will not regret this at all. I watched something on the net recently about the last 7 years of the biggest losers and most gained the weight back. You still can eat whatever but you can't eat much of it! All the best Russ!
  6. Hi David, Good choice you made with going with the sleeve. I was done March 16th and I am down 20lbs already! All the best and be sure to keep us up dated! Russ
  7. Hey, who is that first picture of? Wow you look fantastic! You will inspire many with your story God bless you! Russ
  8. I earlier stated my sleeve date was March 17 but it was really March 16th, oops! So we are in our 10th day out and doing great. On the scales today Russ down 12lbs, Sonia down 8lbs!!! Is this for real? Anyway I will keep bringing our progress...
  9. I got my VSG done by DR. Pompa in Tijuana Mexico. She is a leader in the field, trained at the Mayo Clinc in U.S. and has done many of them!
  10. Hi my name is Russell Murray and I am from Sarnia, On. My wife and I just got the sleeve together (March 17th) and are doing well. When getting the sleeve there are few things to consider and the most important is the surgeon and then after that the care support. I f you would like to contact us at length about anything you my e-mail me or call me at my home 519 337 5442 All the best Russ
  11. Just a comment on grams of Protein. Most people can only absorb 24 grams of protein at a time. People that take servings that boast of 30 or 32 are just wasting it. So when you take your protein, 24 grams is the max at one serving.
  12. I just sleeved March 17. Let me say you need to have only clear fluids for the three days prior. If you do this it will lessen the gas pain that you have for first days after. I didn't do the three days and I paid for it. All the best!
  13. I just got my VSG in a Tijuana clinic which was voted top private medical clinic for both 2009 & 2010 on March 17 it is the evening of March 19th now and I am feeling great. I fly home to Canada tomorrow. The doctor, Dr. Pompa is a leader and pioneer in the field trained at Mayo Clinic in Florida. the fee is only $7900 and they pick you up at the hotel in San Deigo and take you back when you are done. Anyone feel free to contact me
