  1. Tiff...what exactly are we shooting for once we're on regular foods on calories, carbs, sugar, fat, protein, etc...? I was looking thru my materials and didn't see an exact guideline. Thanks!
  2. Oh thanks Laura...I took your advice about the liquid Lortab and it worked. I just awoke and have an incredible gas bubble in my tummy from hell. I've been making laps around my house trying to relieve it. Then all the sudden the vomit alarm went off! Fortunately, after one dry heave it passed (sorry for the TMI). I haven't been worried about the protein as I do good to get sips of water down. I pray today is a better day.
  3. Oh my word!! The pain is manageable, but the nausea and gas is about to kill me!! Been taking nausea medicine and previcid but oh my Lord I just want to throw up and get it over with. Been doing a lot of walking as was instructed, but nothing seems to help.I just want to sleep BUT CAN'T!! HELP!!! How long does this typically last?
  4. Thanks guys for your support! I feel much better today...but still a bit nervous. One day to go! Yee haw!!!
  5. Yippy! I am excited for you. Keep us posted on how it's going. I wish for you a speedy recovery. I'm a day behind you...
  6. How funny!! Are you my alter-ego? You're right! This IS so very hard...I have so little control when it comes to food. I told Dr. Nick that growing up being told to eat everything on your plate, there are starving people in China, coupled with my taste buds NEVER being satisfied has gotten me where I am today. If I didn't feel the need to eat everything in front of me and if I could burn off my taste buds...I would be good to go! But he says this should help. I am extremely nervous...you? What time is your surgery? Mine is set for 2:30pm for now...but they said they would call the day before to let me know the exact time.
  7. Today is my 18th year wedding anniversary and once again I cheated. I am weak as water!!! I have NOT been able to stick to my Pre-op diet very well. I have lost only 3 lbs and have 2 1/2 days until surgery! If I can't control myself now, how in the world am I going to be able to make the sleeve work for me and not try to cheat it? I am so disappointed in myself. I DO NOT want to go through such an ordeal and not be able to stay focused and committed to the goal. Please tell me I'm not the only one that has done this!! HELP!
  8. Well...I happen to like the Chicken Soup, but I add things to it like...onion powder, garlic powder, and a little pepper. However, I wasn't to thrilled about the Choc Splendor or vanilla, so I found some good recipes to liven them up. Now, for the first 21 days I'm on FULL liquids and my surgeon says, "if you can get it thru a strainer you can have it." So here are some ideas and recipes you can try: Get sugar free coffee Syrups...You can add a teaspoon or so to totally change the taste. Lollicup, USA Get Sugar Free Jello and Jello pudding mixes...add a tablespoon of the dry powder to your drink. Yummy!! Here are some recipes from theworldaccordingtoeggface.com. I love them!!!! Note: If you don't do Soy milk (like me) just use 1% milk. Also, if the recipe calls for "flavored" soy milk, just use the 1% milk and flavor with the coffee syrup. chocolate Monkey 8 oz. water or 4 oz.1% or soy milk/4 oz. water 1 scoop chocolate Protein 1/2 a banana Place water in the blender first, then powder, then additions. 9. You guys are so right! Gotta put my big girl panties on and focus on the prize. Thanks for reminding me who I want to be.
  10. My surgery is this Wednesday. Yikes!! Extremely nervous!!! More NERVOUS than excited! I got the whole, "what if's." What if my liver is to large? What if something goes wrong? What if I have terrible pain? What if I am very nauseous? What if I can't keep anything down? What if I can't take my medicines? What if I continuously vomit? What if I am still hungry and never satisfied? What if all my hair falls out? What if I hardly lose anything? What if...? What if...? What if...? Kind of scared that it's so close...I here "Sting" singing..."sending out an S.O.S!!...I hope that someone finds my....MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE."
  11. Not sure how other sleevers have figured out how to keep their food from getting cold by taking 30-45 minutes to eat, but I ordered this online for me. I know...it's for babies...but it'll work for me with portion control as well. Here's the link if anyone is interested: Green Sprouts Warming Plate
  12. I was also told to always use chewable calcium as it's hard on our sleeve to break it all down...just saying.
  13. I was told not to take my multi at the same time as my calcium. However, I was told to get all chewable vitamins.
  14. I like powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury the best...Chocolate Splendor, vanilla, and the best...Chicken Soup. The shakes have 20g Protein and the soup has 21g Protein. You can get a sample package of all their flavors. Also, check out the link below for great recipes for Protein Shakes at- The World According To EggFace. The take away the nasty after taste that Protein drinks can have. 15. Excited for you!! I can't wait until it is my turn on Mar 16th with Dr. Nick. My prayers are with you...let us know how you're doing.
  16. On my 6th day as well. I totally agree! The higher the protein, the less hungry I am. I have 3 unjury shakes and 1 Unjury chicken soup...then all the other broth, Water, etc...I want. Hasn't been that difficult. Well...unless I smell food!!
  17. Wow Brian!! You look MARVELOUS!!! Well done...my brother-sleever!!
  18. You Rock!!! That is awesome that you are doing so well. I pray I have such a great outlook after my surgery. I'm on the schedule for Mar 16th. Yea me!!
  19. I am so glad your recovery is going so well. How on earth can you do so much? Are the pain meds that good? Just teasing! keep up the good work and attitude!
  20. Wow! Sounds like things are going really well for you. Congrats my fellow Texan!
  21. Yes...Unjury are the one's I have. I like the Chicken Soup, but all the others stink and have a bad after taste. Granted, they're not as bad as others I've tried, but they're still ooh. Just thought if I could add some syrup or fruit I could drink them with no problem.
  22. Welcome ampsgirl! Started my 2 wk liquid diet today as well. My surgery is Mar 16th. Can hardly wait! Enjoy your journey to a new you!
  23. March 16th for me as well!! Started my 2 wk pre-op diet today. Really like the unjury chicken Soup...and as long as I can add fruit or syrups to the the Choc and vanilla shakes, I'm ok. I'm excited that there are several of us starting our journey together.
