  1. Sweet!!! Great job!! Just think.... Before you know it you'll be knocking on onederland's door!!! So exciting!!!
  2. You may have not lost much weight, but your body shape is probably slimming still. During my 3 week stall ( which was in week 2), I lost a full pant size!!! It was awsome!! Made the lack of weight loss okay for me. It'll settle I'm sure. Your body is just probably wondering what the heck you did to it.
  3. I went about as long without having a bm. I was worried, but not uncomfortable yet when I finally got moving. Hope you are doing better
  4. I can't wait until a towel goes ALL the way around!!! That awsome!!!
  5. I think I more feel like I sabatoged myself. I think he really was trying to be sweet to me. I just wish I had been strong enough to say thanks but no thanks. I will try the hot chocolate. It sounds really good. And I'm on the same page with the poster with the bigger hubby. Mine is getting larger by the day. I think he is feeling stress that I'm losing and he's not. I think it's leading him to eat, but I can't get him to talk about it. He just keeps saying he's happy for me ( while he drinks a coke and is devowering mac n cheese and hotdogs)
  6. Change something up. Up your calories or protein for a couple days. Change your workout routine. Make your body confused. It worked for me last week. Good luck!!
  7. I bought an awsome blender. Then cook some veggies in chicken broth instead of water. Ad cooked chicken and purée in the blender. Make sure to strain it for chunks. Then you get the broth plus extra chicken for protien. Add different herbs or spices for different flavours. I loved my full liquid week!!
  8. I was burping and tooting like I was making my own demented band!! It was super embarrassing, but at least it was only my mom hearing it : ) besides it made me feel so much better!!! I'm 3 weeks out and you will feel so much better in just a couple days. I went shopping for a few hours on my 3rd or 4th day. The walking helped soooo much. Walk as much as humanly possible. I walked the halls even when I got up to use the bathroom during the night. I figured, " hey, I'm up and getting out of bed is the worst part... Might as well walk a lap" may only take a couple min., but every bit helps. If you have spasms when you drink, try warm liquids. I couldn't do cold stuff. It hurt and spasmed. Let us know how your doin, Heather ( fern )
  9. Well, I'm pms-ing ( sorry guys!!) and I crave chocolate like CRAZY for the first couple days. I'm 3 weeks out and this month is no different than any other month. I held off for 3 whole days. My hubby went to get gas and brought me back my absolute favorate chocolate and..... I ate it!!!!! And then I paid for it. Man did my new little tummy not like it. I won't be doing that again anytime soo. My hubby felt soooo bad about it. My question is... Does anyone elses families or friends try things like that? And how do you deal with them? Really, I didn't have a quarter what I normally would have before surgery, but still!!! I can't do stuff like that anymore!!!
  10. I found the gasx chewables way better than the strips. Try both to see which is better. You'll feel so much better once the gas is out. Glad to hear all went well though. Welcome to the losing team ; )
  11. Mix your protien shake with milk. 9g protien for 1 cup milk, plus average 20g for shake. That's almost 1/2 your day for 1 shake. Sip on 2 of those through out your day and that's 58g!!! Dam close to what you want. Works for me : )
  12. Ya hoo!!! That's awsome!!!
  13. Definately up it. I was trying to get 40-60g the first 2 weeks and 60+ after that. I noticed a huge difference in energy and strength if I was below that. make sure your getting enough liquids too. Good luck
  14. Welcome!! I'm only 3 weeks out, but this board has been wonderful before and after surgery. I love the support I get here. I also looked at the band because my mom has one, but I can't stand to watch all the blockages she has. I love my sleeve!
  15. Cook veggies in the broth and then purée in the blender. Things taste so much better if you can do that. I also had those same feelings. I was bordering on angry that I couldn't eat. But it really does get better. My Dave meal right now ( on full liquids ) is cook carrots, celery, onion (any other veg you like ) in broth til fully fully cooked. Add cooked chicken then throw it all in the blender and purée til totally smooth. You can add a touch of taco seasoning or any other herbs to change it up a bit. Really yummy, plus extra protien from the cooked chicken.
  16. Yup. Hated them. I said something to my doctor and he said that because they were working around the diaphram that it could cause hiccups. I found warm liquids sometimes helped.
  17. I used the unflavoured kind. Yes you can still taste it unfortunately. BUT.... I throw milk in the blender, with a few strawberries, protien powder, a couple ice cubes, and whip it up so no chunks. I also sometimes add a bit of spenda if the strawberries aren't really sweet. Tastes like strawberry milk!! And the sweet strawberry taste masks the after taste that I can't stand. I also use baking flavourings and extracts instead of strawberries sometimes. Works great!! Good luck!!
  18. Your feeling are totally legitimate, and totally normal. I think we have all felt them at some time pre op. It's always hard hearing all the surgical stuff. To me, it's like getting on an airplane and hearing about what to do if the plane's going to crash. It's terrible to hear, but we need to hear them. The worst part of the surgery for me was how groggy and foggy things were when I woke up. But you've had surgery so you know how that will be. You'll be fine. Trust in your surgeon does wonders : )
  19. Your doing the right thing by waiting. Having a hand to hold while your nervous ( and we all were so don't worry about that) is a great thing. And the next few days after, it was nice to have someone to walk with. I'm glad you'll have the comfort of your sister with you. As for being a surgery virgin, the pain is not so bad, just keep up on the meds. And be ready to be groggy for the rest of the day of surgery. Walk walk walk, sip sip sip.
  20. That's so awsome!!! You've done so great!! I can't wait to through out one of those great numbers!! How proud you must be of yourself
  21. I find when I want to munch through the day, that I actually need to drink. And drink some more. You'll learn to master your tool soon enough. I'm still learning too. Don't be too hard on yourself okay?
  22. I'm just about 3 weeks out so I'm still on mushies, but for me it's a pressure feeling that gets uncomfortable. It's right after that, that I start to burp it back up.
  23. I agree with autumnlily. I only drank warm liquid for the first while. Cold liquids caused spasms, warm went down smooth. I also had to water down my warm apple juice, broth, etc to make it go down easier. Get comfy with a drink and sip sip sip. Don't stop until it's gone. Yes it'll take a while, probably a long while. If you still don't feel better, I think a doctors visit may be in order. Hope you feel better quick
  24. There is a lady on biggest loser right now who is an opera singer. The show's doctor said that she could lose her voice if she got any heavier because of fat pressure on the larynx. Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. I wonder how her voice will be by loosing the weight?
  25. Wow!! I can't wait to run again!! I'm just over 2 weeks out and my goal is to run a half marathon. I'm going to shoot for a 5k late summer. How long after surgery did you start running? Ps- you really do suit pink ; )
