  1. Hi all, Vance here. I had my op on 3/8/2011 by Dr. Nicholson at Forest Park Medical Center in Dallas. This is a great doc and super facility. Nothing but praise for them. I'm doing great with 54 lbs lost so far and lots more energy. Now I'm enjoying the summer, swimming and doing a lot of yard work. Now I've got a lot of projects that I had been putting off for years that I feel like working on. Vance
  2. Welcome Chuck, Good to see everything is going great for you. This is a step that you will not regret taking. There will be low spots but hang in there. It's not just about the weight you will lose, it is the energy to do things now, fewer or no meds, self-confidence and knowing you will be healthier and more active to do the things you want to do. The folks here are great and helpful and will answer any question you might have. Very good support group. Vance

  4. I also had the hic-ups but they came in short runs of 3 or 4 and that was it. The first couple of days they went on my list of "things that hurt". Now they have slacked off and get them only once or twice a day. (9 days post-op) Spanner
  5. Thanks for the welcome and I hope everything continues as well as it has been going. This is a good group with very good information. Spanner
  6. Hello all. I'm Spanner (not a spammer) and I had my VS on 3/8/2011 and so far so good. I spent one night in the hospital and had my drain removed prior to discharge (no pun). I'm surviving and sponging up all the information I can about all the things that others had to go through after this procedure. At this point I've had no complications and a very positive experience with my doctor and hospital. Spanner
