  1. I had my surgery May 9th of this year. Like the other's I researched and had lots of planning, classes and testing done (I am a Kaiser patient). Anyway I NEVER had once ounce of regret EVER!!!!!!!! AND being 6 months out now and being so close to my goal weight is something that I could have never done on my own! I also know that I will never be 280lbs EVER AGAIN! No way do I ever have once ounce of buyer's remorse. I would do it agian tomorrow if I needed to. I love my sleeve!!!! Kelly
  2. I started taking my multi-vitamin about a month before surgery and was fine, after surgery, they made me soooo nauseated. Never threw up, but felt bad for about an hour after taking it. At 4 weeks out, I was able to take pills bigger than an m&m and I switched to centrum. Those don't make me sick at all. Kelly
  3. WOW!! Looking good. Keep up the good job!! ;) :D Kelly
  4. you wont even know what they are doing to you. at least i didn't! good luck! Kelly
  5. i rarely get cravings except for tom and always have been that way and there had better be some chocolate in the house!!! except post-op i was soooo afraid to eat it. i was so scared and still am of milk chocolate. hated dark pre-op and now i love it. haven't tried to eat milk chocolate for fear of getting sick because i heard horror stories about people getting sick on sweet stuff, so i stayed away from it for almost 6 months. but i love love love some dove dark moments!! those things are heaven! and just to think i use to buy the big bags of moments at costco and throw out the dark ones. LOL Kelly
  6. Yeah, bread for me sits very heavy. I have tried it twice now and still doesn't feel great. I just don't eat it and really don't miss it ! Kelly
  7. i eat there at least once a week! having it today as a matter of fact! Kelly
  8. So, I have placed an ad on EBAY for a HUGE lot of BA, Unjury, Chike, and GNC protein powders and protein for water. There are also a few protein bullets in the lot. I bought these pre and post op and HATED most of them and would like to get rid of them for a fair price. If you are local and win, I will not charge you shipping and you can come and pick them up. I am in Sacramento area. Check out ad on EBAY my screen name is 2005kellytim. Kelly
  9. Oh yes, you will feel restriction. I am 6 months out and still can only eat like 2 slices of deli meat with a piece of cheese. The only difference between deli and regular meat is that the deli meat is not as dense, therefore it doesn't stay with you as long as say tuna, beef or chicken would. Kelly
  10. I have only told ONE person and that is my husband! I probably will tell my mom when I see her next month (haven't seen her in 3 years). I think people are very narrow minded and very ignorant about WLS, therefore, I didn't want to hear negative comments about what I was doing. That is why I chose not to tell. Now that I am 2lbs from goal and healthier than I have ever been in my entire life, I really don't see how they can shoot me down! LOL Kelly
  11. That is why they are called slider foods. They go down easily and don't have any nutritional value, therefore you don't feel much if any restriction form them. That is why they should be avoided because they are empty calories and you can eat a lot of them!! Kelly
  12. I will be 6 months out in just a couple of days. WOOP WOOP!! Almost at goal too! I honestly can say that I didn't eat ANYTHING I was not supposed to until about a few weeks ago. I now have an occasional sugar free dark chocolate a time or two a week or a few goldfish crackers, but other than than, I stick to my Protein first and then a bite or two of veggies and some fruit. We are not perfect and I say if you want something, have it. You can in no way eat like you did before, so don't deprive yourself.!! Hugs, Kelly
  13. You really should be a poster child for sleeve surgery!! CONGRATS TO YOU!! Kelly
  14. I agree with you Irene!! TOTALLY!! If I want something, I have it now that I am 6 months out. I had some dark chocolate last night and it was WONDERFUL!! Pre-sleeve, I would have eaten the whole bag, but now i have a couple pieces and I am good. The sleeve is a great tool! Kelly
  15. you look AWESOME!! congrats. Kelly
  16. My hair loss has been very minimal. I think it is because I have lost my weight very gradually tho and not really fast. I think the ones that lose 5-10lbs a week lose the most hair. I have lost like 1-3lbs on average every week and I lose like 8 hairs a day. Not a big deal. You can not tell that I lose any. I am very fortunate! Kelly
  17. I didn't have one for about 4 days, but I had HORRIBLE post-op gas from them swelling my stomach up. It was so bad, that I could not take a deep breath or sit up straight for 2 days. About day 3 that gas started breaking loose and I started tootin (TMI sorry) and I started feeling better, but on day 4, I got HORRIBLE diahrreha and had it for a week. I still get it about a couple time a month, had it today as a matter of fact, and like the above poster stated, it is green when it happens!! I only have a BM now about 5-6 times a month anymore, which was really hard for me to accept in the beginning, but now at 6 months out, I am cool with it. Kelly
  18. Oh Raine!! You can do it. Smoking is definatley a mind over matter thing. I know because I kicked that nasty habit April of last year!! YAY I started when I was 12, yes, 12. I was 36 when I quit and soooo glad I did. All it took was will power and a box of Nicoderm CQ patches and I was good. Get you some of those, they REALLY help! A year and one month to the day of quitting, I had VSG surgery. Two of the best things I have EVER done for myself. You will feel so much better when smoking doesn't control you anymore!! You CAN quit if you really want to. I have faith in you. Hugs! Kelly
  19. OH, and i have been using a straw since week 4. Not a big deal! Kelly
  20. I was told the same as we have the same dr. and hospital. ALSO coconut. I have had popcorn, but waited until after 5 months to eat it. They say the kernels can get stuck in the staple line, so make sure you are healed before you eat it. I also have had a few glasses of wine without issue. SHELL, don't tell Fisher! LOL LOL LOL Kelly
  21. I am just a week shy of 6 months and have lost 56lbs. 111lbs total with 55lbs being pre-op. I have really slowed down with the loss in the past month. I am so close to my goal and think that is why. I think it is all in how much you weigh to begin with and how hard you work at it. If you want to lose 70lbs, you will!! Best of luck to you! Kelly
  22. Me too!! I freeze to death most days. Especially at work. I have to dress like it is winter when it is 100 outside just to be comfortable. I am almost 6 months out and am finding it is NOT AS BAD as it was a couple months ago, but I still get cold ALOT!! I am not looking forward to the rainy season here in California. That always makes me cold to the bone anyway, I know I will freeze to death!! LOL Kelly
  23. What a difference! Good for you! Kelly
  24. I know that lilmissdiva has a support group forum. You might want to hit her up for help on where and when they meet. Kelly
  25. I NEVER lost my hunger sensation. I still feel hungry and guess I always will. I find that it is ALOT more managable now tho. I can wait to eat and it is not that "FEED ME NOW" type hunger I use to get pre-sleeve. I wish I didn't get hungry, but I do and I deal with it. I also gained 14lbs during surgery, but it came right off in a couple days. Yours will too! Kelly
