  1. Swizzly, it's tough to do it while having to socialize and be out and about. And I think you will probably do better on non consecutive days. That way you can tell yourself, "it's only today!"
  2. Wonder why if its not like "us" we tend to think its not right? We all do it. We might not vocalize it but we do. Healthy food makes healthy bodies. Anyway you eat it.
  3. I really disagree with the notion that 5:2 is an eating disorder gimmick. I'm eating much healthier by starting this and what's the big deal if we call it "fasting". You really aren't. I've truly fasted many times. Water only. If I am eating 500 healthy calories and the next day eating 1300 or so healthy calories, is that a gimmick? To each his own but those of us out 3 years or so and struggling to maintain are lookin for a healthy maintenance. Don't see anything wrong with it Just sayin.
  4. We rock, Gang! Keep your teeth together until tomorrow! Bahaha ????
  5. I didn't join but read it through. Good stuff
  6. Well, so much for that! I managed about maybe half my supper. Thanks, Sleeve! Lol. The restriction REALLY shows up on this 5:2. And can't wait much longer to eat something else. Ha!
  7. The first day I did too. It gets easier and you gain energy as you progress through.
  8. Thanks,FYI! Going to upload pic of my supper if i can figure out how. Chicken stir dry. 4oz chicken 110 cal 3/4 cup veggies 30! It's a plate full. Probably 5 cal worth of soy sauce. I'm not going to be able to eat it all. ???? So I guess I will get my snack of pretzels tonight since that makes 145 supper, 100 breakfast, 100 snacks. That's 345! Whoo hoo
  9. Yaaayyyyy, Coops! One down!
  10. you can still have lots of food! chicken breast, green beans (lots since 1/2 is only 20 calories) fresh veggies, a slice of cheese.. fill up on veggies and 3-4 oz meat and you will still be under 200 I think!
  11. That's all I've done for 12 hour stretch is - dinner to breakfast (say, 7pm to 9-10 am next day!) Working for me so far. And I'm so busy today, I haven't had time to even think much about the fact that I'm not ALLOWED to eat! lol I ate my SF oatmeal at 10, 2% string cheese at 1:30 and thats all time dinner.
  12. Well, it's been a wild and wooly work day so far! 10:46 and I have JUST stopped to eat my oatmeal as I type furiously and work!! then I take a minute to open my emails and here's the devotional from today. Hmmm. http://www.faithgateway.com/embrace-courageous-choices/?utm_source=devosdaily&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=devosdaily20130611&spMailingID=41710386&spUserID=NTQ1MjkwNzExOTMS1&spJobID=191008220&spReportId=MTkxMDA4MjIwS0
  13. Good luck to all tomorrow! Coops, here's the weird thing on non-fast days, YOU STILL EAT LESS! At least I am eating way less because I am conscious of everything going in myfitnesspal and faithfully logging in myfitnesspal as well as increased exercise (from almost none)! ???? And yet, I have MORE energy. After trying sooo hard for several months of low carb this sure seems easier for the long haul.
  14. For me, I just know I could never do shakes and be successful. I have to Chew! Lol. I'm trying to find something that long-term I can live with and that's why I'm trying the 5:2. You get to eat 5 days a week and I being very conscious of what goes in my mouth. Trying to make it "clean" (even though from all accounts there is no such thing!) healthy and very little junk. At almost 60, I KNOW this is for life. That many years of bad eating habits isn't going to give up easily! Lol
  15. No, you need to have at least one twelve hour interval. The originator eats at 7 and 7. If you eat at six and six that's great! I,myself, try not to eat before mid morning and then around 7 because I'm not quite sure if I eat EARLY that I won't be tempted to cheat! Lol.
  16. Obviously, for me, it is best to get in as much protein as you can to stay full but not worried about it. For example, I found that oatmeal works best for me for breakfast with sting cheese snack and then chicken breast with veggies for supper so I do get protein and if you did eggs or cheese for breakfast you would get more. But, no, at 3 years out, I don't worry about levels so much other than carbs now
  17. Did you watch the video, Globe? He specifically said 500 for women and 600 men. Works for me and I eat nowhere near that amount of calories per day normally ( unless I have fallen off the wagon and ate junk food all day!). I read the book too but guess I missed the formula. Got to tell you, for me, it's making me REALLY more conscious of choices and portions. I weighed this morning after 3 normal days and I have lost another 2 pounds! It's so weird. BUT I am exercising somewhat more (30 mins or so)and completely cut out junk except for PB filled pretzels and SF angel food cake! But it's all PORTIONED. I know it's the first week and it will all change but it has sure lifted my spirits and willpower to get moving again! Happy Monday (or whatever) to all! Good luck!
  18. Welcome, Ms Skinniness!
  19. That's string cheese although if you like strong cheese! ????
  20. I'm just doing my own taking ideas from book. I usually do oatmeal in morning with a strong cheese snack a couple hrs later. I don't eat til around 10 to 10:30 on fast day. Then I eat around 6:30 to 7. Chicken tenderloin with green beans and fresh veggies like bell pepper, cucumbers etc. and some strawberries or cantaloupe. One day I had an apple as snack. Also light babybel cheese or 2-3 slices of turkey thin slices. I also bought a food scale to make sure of portions so that I wouldn't go over the 500 but have only used once so far. ????
  21. U. A. state of Arkansas!!
  22. Yes, Globetrotter. I'm eating 500.
