How was your 5:2 day today?
I have no side effects or weight gain. and much calmer so maybe you just need to find what WORKS for your body. There are some newer drugs that are time released and less side effects. Aren't Xanax habit forming and addictive? My son loves them. . I've never taken them so not sure about them. For me, it's easier to just take my one small dose a day.

5:2 Links and info
For me, it provides a disciplined approach to maintenance. The knowledge that I have finally put in place a workable solution to maintaining my WL is very gratifying. I have found it also seems to control and limit the amount of food (mindless snacking) on feast days as well.

Have you tried taking melatonin 30 minutes before bed? I am in the same boat for the last few weeks. Friend recommended. Has to be the quick absorb you out under tongue. Seems to help me a bit.

How was your 5:2 day today?
Okay, on day two fast this week. Yes, I am doing two back to back because of schedule this week. Since I fell headlong into chocolate free fall last week in NOLA, I need it anyway! That was something that hasn't happened in a whole and I have to admit I Loved it! Ha! The girls wanted some half price Christmas candy at CVS while I was getting my flu shot. We bought a bag of Kisses and M&Ms. . You know what happened, right? Three little girls and me had a wonderful orgy of chocolate over the next four days AND beignets too! For those of you who haven't had the delightful experience of beignets, you just haven't lived yet! Needless to say, I was up a couple of pounds. Not over my bounce but.... I guess I should feel regretful, BUT I DONT! Ha!

How did your weight stabalize?
I find it so I interesting that some continue to lose with increased calories. I guess I MIGHT have continued to lose if I had continued exactly as I was when I reached goal but added back so W additional carbs and weight loss stopped. And also so weird to me that at younger ages, more calories are consumed and weight loss occurs. If I, at age 60, were to eat that many I truly would gain. Smh!!!

My mind is beating me up...
The number one thing we all did this for ( I hope) is health. That has certainly been achieved. You have done excellent and wearing a 4/6. We are pretty much the same. Although, I am 5'8". My goal was 150 also. I did reach it BUT regained some after three years. Recently, relost that weight and added another "vanity zone" 10 pound weight loss. It CAN be done and you can get to goal but most importantly, it won't happen over night and won't change all the other "head" stuff. As Florinda (Globe) said I haven't seen anyone that doesn't have a Dr Goal and a personal goal! LOL. We are, by nature, not ever entirely satisfied. Keep it up, Girlfriend! You are doing great!!!

Welcome new vets
Yes, I second that, along with SarSar! Some have said, "Why are you still hanging around after all this time?" You will find as you see those of us who are "vets" and have reached goal or are almost there, we have stuck around and gathered a group of peeps around us who provide insight, knowledge and a few good "slaps" upside the head now and then to spur us on to victory in our WLS endeavors and other areas of life. I encourage you to take advantage of the wealth of knowledge and friendship that will be willingly offered.

The 5:2 Diet
10 years!! I have to do it every three years!!! And it's due! Lol. I know that feeling of Holy Crap. I gained too and then lost it and lowered from 150 goal to 140. Last week I had a free fall into chocolate land in NOLA so it's 5:2 and normal again starting tomorrow! Good luck. You can do it. It will take discipline and patience to relose so hang in there!!!!!!

Anyone tracking JUST protein? How?
Aww, come on Gmanbat, you know you are trying to be nice! Ha! I, for one, didn't track the first three plus years. Wound up regaining about 30 pounds not understanding I was allowing old habits and junk/sliders to rule. So, for me, most days I track just to make myself disciplined. Also, I finally discovered how much I can actually consume (TTEE BMR) and not gain. So maintenance now after months to regain goal and lower THAT goal, is different than before. The farther out you are from goal I think most of us realize that we still have a lot of "fatty" thought processes and our bodies just DONT react like people who have never been obese.

How was your 5:2 day today?
Wow, Globe, this brings back memories. "I'll Fly Away" old hymn or something else? I truly feel your tiredness. I've experienced that feeling too. Only thing I can help with is you are loved by the "girl band" and are important. As The Help said, " You is good , you is kind, you is important!" Hang in there.
