  1. Thanks I will try to go back to protein as i am eating too much carbs again. I will post the results in a week
  2. I think I stretched my stomach I went trough a miscarriage and started eating more frequently and also eating to the point of feeling uncomfortable. I notice that I am able to eat much more and I would like to be able to eat less again. is there any way or anything we can do to shrink the pouch again? I have heard of a pouch test, ist it just to measure the capacity or it reduces again the capacity of the stomach? Thanks
  3. Waw, you look powerful, amazing, hot! Congratulations.
  4. I do go to McDonalds occasionally and these are my options: 1 chicken wrap (I eat half of it) or Chesebuerger plain (I remove one slice of bread and eat about 3/4 of the rest. or 2 chicken nuggets (my kid eats the other 4) I do drink a bit of diet coke and enjoy it. I had no problems with it but I drink about 50mls only. I may eat 3 fries or so. I have tried the salad and the muffim (only half of the top) too.
  5. I would suggest the gasex meltable and a laptop/ipad or book to help you pass the time. I will be sending good vibes for you. take care
  6. Unfortunately my pregancy did not go ahead. I had very, very, very bad nausea for 8 weeks too. I am fine, still a bit sad but accepting the new reality. Thank you all for the support.
  7. That was the biggest surprise of my life. I had to undergo more than a year of fertility treatment and artificial insemination to have my daughter and now, when I least expecetd, I got this blessing. I am 3 month post VSG and almost 6 weeks pregant. I am still afraid, concerned about the nutrition of the fetus, weight gain, breatsfeeding ... finances... and all those things... but I am sooooo HAPPY about this baby. May God bring him/her in good health! I have so many questions for you gals who went through VSG and pregnancy. Were your babies born normal weight? Did you gain lots of weight? How did you manage to get more calories? What advise or tips you can give me? I am looking forward to share my experience with you and to learn from your experiences.

  9. thank you all. It is so good to have this support... I eat everything including chocolates, cake, cheesecake....but all in small amounts. Xoxo
  10. Fantastic. Keep up the good work.
  11. I have a large frame and I used to weight 125. I am 5'2" and I set my final goal at 125 with probably the last 5 being tummy tuck to remove excess skin. I do set mini goals to keep me motivated. I think 150 is still overweight for your height and that you can certainly get to 135.
  12. I need to share this. I set my goal of 160lbs for Easter Sunday. I had a stall and a slow loss for a while and the in the past week the weight loss just picked up. Today I reached my goal of 160lbs and I am no longer OBESE. Thanks God for my Sleve. Thanks Dr. Kelly and his team. Thanks you all for the support. I am sooo thrilled! To you all out there, do not get discouraged with the terrible stalls... they too pass.
  13. I think people who lose 40 lbs in a month are those who need to loose much more than 110 lbs. You are doing great! Remember that those 20 lbs will be gone forever.
  14. Absolutely not. You will eliminate co morbid conditions, be healthy, lighter, look and feel younger and add years and quality to your life. Go for it.
  15. I do spend a lot less...I was used to go to the food court in my work twice a day and eat out once a week in addition to all the snacks, chocolates, pizzas, etc. Now it is way less. When I go out I need to share my plate, no more fast food, junk, etc.
  16. I dont know the answer but I know one of the ways to asess oxigenation is by monitoring the color under your nails. Some places require you to remove nail polish but I believe it depends on the doctor, hospital, etc.
  17. I believe so. In Brazil we measure the waist of pants around our necks and it it goes around the neck comfortably it will fit your waist too.(Unless you have a very particular shape). It has worked with me forever. The neck increased in circunference in the same proportion the waist did. It has reduced also in the same proportion and now 2 nevcklaces/chocker srtyle I had that were not fitting are fitting nicely. So my guess is that the neck fat will be gone really soon. Keeps us posted.
  18. I asked that question to my doctor and he said that in the past, when doctors were still leaving a larger pouch, it was common for the stomach to stretch quite a bit. However, now, with the 32-38fr bougies they do not leave much of the stretching tissue so the stomach will not be able to stretch much.
  19. Sublingual liquid B12 helped me a lot. I have it everyday and I noticed immediate improvement. I also increased carbs in the morning and mid afternoon when i was at my worst. maybe it can help you too.
  20. Actually we all have 3 leak tests but 2 of them are under anestesia (dye and air) and 1 of them is the barium that we do just before discharge. My pain and nausea were very well managed. It does not mean there was no nausea and no pain and it is impossible. It means I was promptly attended when i had any nausea or pain and also that medication was given continuously to prevent both. You still have nausea when waking up from surgery and a fee times during the hours after it. It is normal and expected. You still feel some pain when you move which is also expected and cannot be totally eliminated. The discomfort from the drain only goes away after the drain is removed. The feeling is odd as if everything was too full and too tight inside (which is the case). You should not have other kind of pain and if you have they will give you meds. They did not use narcotics which is a very good thing and will help you stay awake to walk and sip and recover faster. Hope it helped.
  21. I am 7 weeks out and still cannot get that amount of food at once. 1 egg makes me full. 3 ounces of soft fish with nothing else. I need to eat every 3 hrs though...
  22. Actually one of the best things after surgery was the feeling of eating and not feeling guilty after that. I no longer beat myself after eating. I have had chocolates, ice cream, etc and feel good after because the amount is so little that it is not enough to cause harm or make me feel guilty. You will soon be able to have whatever you love without making you feel bad, believe me.
  23. I am sure both doctors are excellent. you will. Have excellent care with any of the two doctors. I went by myself to Dr. Kelly. 2 days in a full hospital in private room, 2 days in a nice hotel. 3 leak tests , 2 during surgery and the barium test. Hospital close to the border in a quiet area, transportation, excellent team of English speaking professionals, etc. I am very happy with the complete experience. $ 5300
