  1. Wow! congrats on the size 6. And your maintainance!! I dont think my body would like that size. lol I am struggling to get my last 15. I think my body likes it wear it is, but this is the size I was at for a very long time when I was younger, so I think it just is confused with what my head wants. My body and head need to talk to each other more!! congrats to u!
  2. Trust me you will get used to it!!!!! It took me awhile to venture out to different stores. I would shop Jjill alot cause I could squeese into their 18s sometimes, so that is where I mostly shopped. Now I can go in anywhere and get anything. Its addicting. And now I love shopping. I have put off getting anymore pants until summer cause I want to see if I can still lose these last few pounds. But I am almost at my personal goal of size 10, I can fit into them, but they are still a little tight. I might stop at 170. Dont know yet!!! Have fun!!
  3. Great news on the band part! Hopefully you can get your lungs back to normal soon so you can really enjoy your weightloss!! good luck and keep us updated
  4. Good for you, you should see a nice drop in weight over the next week. I always drop really quickly right after a fill. As long as they can get at the port you should be fine. It just might uncomfortable getting your fills. good luck!!
  5. A size 6?? that would take some doing to get used to. I have looked at those sizes and they are really really tiny!!! Congrats. I dont know if I could imagine myself that small.
  6. I dont think my face and neck look that bad. Alot of people say I look younger. The one thing that is not going to go back in place are my thighs. I think even if I worked out until the cows come home i will not have 20 year old thighs again . Good luck to you. I think you will look great. You are going to feel better no matter what and there is always makeup !!!
  7. I am not sure of the size difference either. But i am sure you will be to those sizes sooner than you think. I went down from a 20 to a 14 pretty quickly and have been slowly getting to a size 10 over the last couple of months. 10 was my initial goal and I think I will make it. I can fit in some 10's now but would like to lose a little bit more to make it so they fit with no problems. Keep up the work, you will get there!!
  8. I remember having a seroma, I think its called. it was a big knot right beside my insision. it lasted about a month before it went away. That could be it. ?!? I wish he would have given you a more clearer explanation.
  9. Thanks for the post! I was kinda lucky as I has almost 2cc in from surgery and at my first fill she brought me upto 5.5cc. I had pretty good restriction from the get go. you have done excellent!!
  10. Yeah, im opposite from you, medium on top and larger on the bottom. Definately wish I could lose more on the bottom. congrats
  11. I do the same thing. If I find myself eating to much, I throw myself on a liquid day diet. This kinda bumps me back a little so that I dont go overboard. I can seem to only last a day of this. I dont know what I will do if my doc puts me on a restrictive diet due to a slip or something. Knock on wood. Its such a fine line sometimes with getting good restriction and going over the top. I have gone in for one unfill because I couldnt eat anything put liquids and Soup. I hope you can get it worked out to where you can have restriction but also be able to eat something with out all the problems. good luck
  12. Im starting to go between 10 and 12 now. So trying on is a must now. Which I use to hate to do. I would just grap and go the first thing thing that looked relatively cute, which was not very much in the big sizes. But I hold these clothes up thinking they look so small and I cant be that small. My doctor said the other day that I have to consider myself normal now. I am a normal person who just has a few more pounds to lose because most people are overweight by a little bit. What percentage of people are in normal bmi range I wonder? I still think size 10 is my goal, I really couldnt wrap my head around an 8.

  14. Do you ever go shopping and look at a new size and think "how am I going to get that over my arse, let alone button it"... I went shopping today just to see what is coming out for spring. I was going to try on some cute capri's and I went to the next size lower as the size I am wearing is getting kinda loose. I looked at these pants and was thinking, there is no way these are going to fit. But I tried them on and they pulled up and zipped and buttoned.. They were darn cute. The lady that was helping me said they have layaway and that I should get the next size down and have 60 days to lose 10 more pounds. MOTIVATION!!!
  15. I remember a lady at one of my nutrition classes after we were banded said somthing to me about not needing the lapband because I was not heavy enough. I weighed 240 at my surgery date. I needed to lose 80 to reach my nornal bmi. Just because someone doesnt need to lose over 100 dousnt mean they dont need the same help. We were probably heading toward that anyway sooner or later. Its a personal dicision on when you have the lapband, some choose at 50 lbs, some choose at 100, some choose at 200. Some choose to not do it at all. I couldnt beleive someone questioned me why I needed to get it done, esspecially considering my before and after pics. But because I didnt need to lose over 100 I wasnt worthy? Fda and my doc says otherwise...
  16. aahhh beer. I would love to try one, but I am so scared to. I miss a cold beer every once in awhile. Thanks everyone for your encouragement! We will see what all it entails soon and if I can fit the bill. I am in denver and went to Dr. Snyder.
  17. I am pretty much the same as you. I did at the beginning with measuring an calories, but havent done it in awhile. I keep wanting to get back to it to help lose my last 15 or so. Thats why I wonder if I would be a good mentor. But I can be very encouraging!!!
  18. What was your turning point for finally turning to wls? Mine was (after 20 years) after I went on a cruise and I kept tninking I would of had a such a better time if I was more comfotable in my body. I wasnt able to do alot if what I wanted to do. I was able to barely do the zipline in Balize, but the guy embarrased me and said in front of everyone that I needed extra harneses because of my weight. I was given an extra large innertube. Things like that can really affect someone. And the kicker was when I got back and was taking the kuds to school and was cut off by someone and then they called me a Fat Cow. It was after that I started really looking into doing something. it was finally getting to affect my self esteme to the point that I could not take anymore. Was there a certain turning point for you?
  19. b52, I talked at one seminar in december. I didnt like it, only because I dont like to talk in front of a big crowd. But I think you would be good. you have done amazing.
  20. I went in for a fill today cause I have started to creep up a little. My fill doc wanted to know if I would like to be a mentor for a new lap bandster. I reminded her that I wasnt even at my goal yet. She said that didnt matter. I am at 75% of my excess weight, so I am doing better than the average at my time frame. I am still losing (fairly slow pace) so she thinks I would make a good mentor. I told her I would. I am hoping that it helps me as well to keep on track and revisit the basics more often.
  21. I went in for a fill today and showed your pic to my fill dr. She said that it looked like a flipped port. She said that you should be able to still get fills. It would be up to you if you want to get it fixed or not. It would probably be an out of pocket expense, which is a bummer. She said that because you are so newly banded, it might have happened if you picked up more than you were suppose to within your 6 week recovery time. My doctor said that we werent even suppose to push something that weighed more than 20 lbs (not even a grocery cart). I will admit i didnt follow that rule. I would still go in a see your doctor to make sure that is what it is. Good luck to you!
  22. Wow four years is such a great inspiration. Thank you for sharing and congrats.
  23. I have told many people about my band, it doesnt bother me who knows. People that I see in passing that I havent seen for awhile that comment, I will usually just say thank you and go from there. If they are truly curious and I think it could be of use to them, I I might tell more. But sometimes that can be bad because because then they want it and cant afford it and dont have insurance. Then I feel bad. Or they think it is a quick fix and uf they get it it will be magic. If I tell them, I tell them the good and the bad...
