I am definately not eating as much as I was but I think I may not be eating enough and as from today I am tracking my foods. Roll on the fills!!!
2. Lads how soon after surgery can I start zumba?? I have a video that does a quick 20 min work out. I'm 2 and half weeks after surgery and stomach is just better. Thanks in advance
3. Redhead girl brilliant link, in just having a look at it now. I am 2 and half weeks banded and I am stuggling to lose any weight. I know this is the time for healing but I hear loads od people on here losing big time, all in all with 1 week post op diet I have lost 10pm! Granted I wouldn't have as much to lose as others, I am 222lbs now but still???? I didn't realise I had to eat more protein, this is probably where I have been going wrong. You site has given me a good insure to what I have to do , thank you so much
4. Girls I'm in the same boat. I was banded on 25th June, I thought it would be gone by now. I've just got a hot pad and it's given me great relief. Hope it goes soon
5. I'm the same, 4 days post op, seriously sore all up the left side of my rib cage, arm and neck. I was at my check up yesterday and nurse said it was normal. It's not the normal gas in your stomach its gas left there from op, so it takes a while to disperse. She said i should feel a bit better in about 4 more days. I am relieved as i thought at one stage it was my heart!!!!! hang in there x
6.

Hi I'm exactly the same, i got banded on the 25th, a little bit sore but the gas is worse!.Pains in my shoulder and under my rib cage, everything else healing well. I feel as if my port is rubbing of my ribs, but nurse said its normal so im calm about it. Finding it hard to get food(liquids) into me, like actually wanting to eat!!! WTF its like, is this really me or did they change me for an alien in theatre????? I'd normally eat the hand off ye!!! Anyway good luck to all thats getting banded, its not anywhere as bad as you think, the worse thing i found was the youghurt and milk pre op diet!!! Well done to all thats come through it and best of luck with the rest of our soon to be skinny lives xxxxxx
7. :DHi all 3 more days until i'm been banded!!!! Wasn't nervous but now am............Worried bout going under and not waking up, ive never had an op before!!! On liquid diet for a week, consists of 4 glass of milk, 2 yoghurts and 1 bovril a day!!!!! Honestly i dont know how anyone could last any longer than a week and feel sorry for anyone that has to do longer. I have not cheated so far and neither will i!!!! I can't wait to drink soup next week!!! lol Good look to all that are been banded this week xxx
8. Girls can't believe that this day 2 weeks, i'l be a bandster!!!!!! I had my bloods done the other day and the nurse went through everything with me, she was so nice and really put me at ease. I start my pre-op milk diet next saturday, i'm not looking forward to it!!!!! Seriously all i eat for a week is 2 yougurts a day and lots of milk!!! but hey i havent had to diet before hand so im getting away lightly! Also heres the funny thing, i was dreading getting on the scales cos since making the decision to get banded, ive been eating more!!! seriously i was convinced that i'd put on a stone and have been so down on my self, not wanting to go anywhere etc. Well turns out, i havent put on a pound!!! i wasdelighted xxxxxx Anyway, good luck to all thats before me, roll on 2 weeks!!!!!
9. hi all, so 23 days left for my band and im seriously counting!!!!!! I cant wait to start over and get on with my new life! Only thing ive noticed is im piling on the weight, its like in my head, i keep thinking "a sure, i'l be doing this for ever, so feck it"! Oh god, is anyone else like this??? I'm going for my bloods next week so il find out how long i'l have to do the pre op diet for, but i think its one week. I'm paying for the op myself, so i havent been on a restrictive diet like alot who are getting it through insurance. The sooner the pre op diet comes the better!!!!
10. Thanks for all your advise, yeah ive noticed alot of people saying to walk, so il definately be doing it. Theres just so much to know!!! Good luck with the rest of your new life Shelly
11. Hi all, So i'm on the count down to my surgery and i'm starting to think about what i'l need to have at home afterwards. There's so much stuff to think about so i was just wondering what you used for: 1. Pain killers, like over the counter stuff for a head ache. 2. Heart burn 3. Constipation/diahorra (seriously does this all happen and should i just have something in the house in case? 4. food for first few weeks, what did you eat?? What kind of Soups?? 5. List of things to bring to the hospital. IT would be great if you can say what you've took and what you would bring with you. I am getting excited about starting my new life Cheers Ps: Just to say i live in Europe/Ireland, just for the names of medication as it can differ in USA.
12. hope your doing ok, let us know how you got on
13. lads thanks for the replies. I have booked in with the hospital group and paid deposit so im not going back on it. No way i can go to Belgium, its just not up for negociation with husband. I have been talking to a few girls that got done through them in the past year and all are happy with their results and care. Il have to just take it as it is, maybe il be back on here say they are the best ever! May be i won;t ! But i think that can go for anything. Realising things can go wrong, i am not going into this blindly, but i cant go on like this for much longer and if my only hope of getting it done is in Ireland, then so be it. Thanks for all the comments Shelly P.s: I have gone for other consultations as well, they by far treated me better and answered all my questions
14. oh god im the same my self, since ive decided to have the surgery, the clothes are gettting tighter and tighter!!!!! roll on the 25th june!
15. well done everyone, im getting banded on 25th june and looking forward to it. Any update on your progresses????
16. thanks lads, actually booked The hospital Group. I met david Hewin, he was very nice and imformative. I've got my date for 25th June. I can't wait!!!! The sooner it comes the better. I'm happy enough to be staying at home, my husband wasnt comfortable with my going abroad and i'm ok with that. I'd probably be the same if it was him. I'l keep in touch and let you know how i get on, i have my pre op bloods on the 6th so roll on!!!!
17. just voted! good luck and keep reminding us!
18. Hi lads, how are we all doing today. Another day closer to my all of our dates!!! Mine's 25th June. Whats your last BIG meal going to be?? I already have it planned out!!! lol Im defo having a big sandwich for my lunch, white bread of course! As i dont envisage having any bread for a long time. Also a few beers! Will NEVER be having that again and i'm looking forward to it, Then for dinner i'm having steak, potatoes, onions and gravy!! Cos everyone is saying its very hard to eat steak afterwards, so in case i cant eat it again!!! Then 1 week of pre op milk diet and bobs your uncle!!! I really cant wait to start my new life! xx
19. Hi Guy, Just back from my consultation with surgeon, and got my date, 25th June!!! YAY!!!!!!! Very excited but also very nervous. Will we try keep in touch with one and other on this post and tell each other how we're gettin on. I'm dreading the week before, pre-op diet, oh jesus help me!!!! lol But looking forward to starting my new life> I am ready for change!!! Good luck to you all Shelly
20. Thanks for the reply. Oh how do you do that routine on a normal day?????? Honestly i'm so lucky, i work less than 5 minutes from my home, 3.5 hours a day, monday to friday. My friend brings kids to school and i collect them. Its the perfect set up! I' just going to play it by ear but i'l take a few days off sick. I really am looking forward to signing on the dotted line and getting my offical date. Thanks
21. Stop feeling bad about your weight, or lack of it compared to others. You have your own reasons for getting the lapband as does everyone. I have BMI 35, I can;t wait to get mine in and start my new life. Granted i'm doing it privately. I've been over weight all my life and its getting worse each year. The constant yo,yo dieting is my normal everyday life, with 4 size clothes in my waredrobe. I am hopefully having mine the end of June and already I am having nightmares!!!! But I have to do something about my size before it escalates futher. If you feel it will work for you then go for it. Don't feel guilty, its not an easy option. Good luck
