    Protein in Urine and Anemic

doctor said it was just a trace and they are retesting in a few weeks. thx!
  2. I am new to this site but i was banded June 2009. I have had a very slow weight loss journey, have lost about 50 pds, no gains. My mom became very sick in 2008 - 2009 and I was depressed and did not focus on eating right, taking the Vitamins, or the Protein. Just had blood work done with my regular doctor and the results came back: protein in urine and anemic. I meet with her this week and have been very worried. I have not kept up with the protein, i can not eat much meat and hate whey protein (and the other protein drinks) and i was not taking vitamins on a regular basis. Has anyone else had protein in urine and been told they are anemic. I have been feeling exhausted and horrible. I started taking all the vitamins a week ago, see my doc thurs, and i am going to force myself to drink protein starting today. AND....my dentist said my two front teeth are decaying and i have tiny cracks in them. i have never had teeth issues in my entire life, not even cavities. I guess all these issues are a result of not eating right, no vitamins, and not enough protein. Has anyone else had these issues???? suggestions are needed. thanks!!! Patti

    am i too tight?! URGENT

my doc says liquids for a few days after a fill too. my last fill (2 weeks ago), i did mostly liquids for 3 days, then switched to apple sauce etc. i could tell it was too tight and my throat was starting to hurt....i guess from acid build up so i went back and had a little bit taken out. oh and my fill was only 1/2 cc, he didn't take out the entire half, just a tiny bit. still feeling a little bit of burning in my throat so i might have to go back and have the rest out too. does anyone else ever have the burning?
  5. I was banded June 09 by Dr. Singh. He's a great doctor, usually late for appts but he is busy w surgeries! He is very easy to talk to, very reassuring, nice, and a good doctor. I do miss Mary in the main office tho, she was very sweet. Do not b nervous! I have only lost 41 since my surgery but i have not gained and any loss is a good loss! I did not keep track of my calories and i had some set backs in my life (broken leg, mom passing, etc.). Most importantly, keep a food diary on one of the on line sites (i use myfitnesspal.com). Dr. Singh suggested 1,200 calories a day and it works!!! i have had NO slippage or issues. You may need your band adjusted but that is very normal. He does not like to fill it too much (especially at first) until you are well healed and ur stomach is ready. I went back several times for fills and/or adjustments, but it is a very easy and quick thing. You will know when u need a fill by how much u are eating. If u keep track of your calories right away, u may never need a fill. Do NOT b like me and not do the food diary!!! I'm finally listening to Dr. Singh (who asked me last week why i don't trust him. HAHAHAHA!) and keeping count of my calories and i'm losing each week!!!! feel free to email me anytime if u have questions or concerns: patti932@gmail.com Patti Maryland Dr. Singh

    Newly Banded!

Hi Nadea, I was banded June 09 but just joining this site. i have had a slow journey (lost 41) but i have not gained any weight. Had a few set backs...my mom passed away and i broke my leg and was in bed for months. I am doing good now. I suggest keeping a food diary on one of the on line sites. I use myfitnesspal.com on my computer and itouch, it's free and great. Even with a lab band u can still eat so it is VERY important to keep track of your calories. My lap band doctor suggests staying under 1,200 a day, some may disagree but it works for me. i was not keeping track of my calories, so i was over eating some weeks, under eating other weeks, that is why i have only lost 41. I also had to return to my doctor a few times to get my band adjusted just right, do not get frustrated if this happens to you. Be patient because your doctor will get the band adjusted right for u. You will know by how much u can eat, if u are eating too much and hungry make sure u go see your doctor. Congrats on ur surgery!!! I'm so glad i had the surgery! I am not off of one blood pressure medication, my acid reflux med, and my diabetes medication!!!!! feel free to email me if u have any questions. patti932@gmail.com Patti in Maryland Dr. Singh
  7. i was banded 1.5 years ago, it took months b4 my doc had the band filled enough to really restrict my eating. Some advice: make sure u take ur Vitamins and Protein. I got lazy on the protein and vitamins and now my regular doc said i have some protein in my urine and i'm anemic. The doc is thinking i'm having these issues due to not eating enough, not taking the vitamins, and not drinking the protein. it is very important to take the vitamins! Even tho I do not eat a lot the weight loss is very slow. I have lost 50 pounds but took 1.5 years, but losing slow is okay and healthy. The lap band is not a miracle solution to weight loss but it is a great aid. Be patient, eat healthy but watch ur portions, take vitamins and protein. Like you, i lost like 24 pounds quickly, then it stopped for a long while. But remember.....if u are not gaining and losing (even it is a slow process) u are working towards being much healthier!
