  1. I'd really like to have a tummy tuck- however, i am not rich and I don't know if I could afford the procedure. yesterday I had a consult- my insurance will cover if I can constitute a medical reason. I have been told that if I have rashes I can provide that to my insurance company. Can anyone give me some examples of medical reasons they have been able to document?

  3. I have excess skin (not much) I want to see about having it removed. I have lost 80 pounds so far- I'd love to lose another 10-15 pounds but overall I am happy I would also love my insurance to pay for this procedure!!. I have a consult to see about this skin removal. What are some questions I should ask? Has anyone seen a plastic surgeon in NJ? I have been banded since August 10, I feel like now would be a great time to do this if I am gonna do it.
  4. I have never been so excited to drop sizes but I have to say that I am having a really hard time keeping up with my closet! I found a great consignment store but they no longer except pants and I am in desperate need of pants! Last year I bought some stuff but this year I am giving it all away!!! If anybody has some size 8's I'd love them I can swap some 10's 12's 14's 16's! I have so much stuff to get rid of Please get in touch with me
  5. Yesterday I had my fourth fill- for a total of 8 cc's in my band. I have NO problems on this journey- losing weight well 66 pounds since August 9, 2010. However this fill has rocked my world, when I have tried to eat (chicken) or anything solid (maybe chicken was a bad idea- I just love it) I feel like within a minute of eating I feel as though I have swalllowed glass and someone is trying to choke me. If I lean over it eases the pain. Is this normal? What types of foods are good to eat after a fill? I think that liquids are safe- but I would like to gradually eat again.

    Fill "food"

Thanks for all of your advice- B-52 your profile pic is ironic- I teach in Asbury Park! lol I really did not try and eat that much chicken just picking at a rotessirie (spelling) chicken. I had some egg salad- feel better now. I am going to just make some more changes and have patience when eating.
  7. I was banded in August 2010, I have 4.5 cc's in my band and have lost 60 pounds. I have had NO problems with my band. In March I decided to use fill centers usa because my dr is too far away and because I was just not happy with his bedside manor. I had one fill at Fill Center USA and and it went well. Went back two weeks ago and It was very hard to access my port. After being stuck 6 times with no fluro I decided this is not good and the Dr said my port may have flipped or be stuck in a pocket. Today I saw a different local dr after finally getting access to my medical records which after 5 phone calls and 5 faxes I finally got- only to find out they are so poorly written, my age is incorrect and there are so many blanks in the record. This guy was the worst DR I have seen, very arrogant very rude and completely bad mouthed the Realize band. Told me my weight loss was ok?? and told me I had to see the original surgeon. I do not want to go back to my original DR but I'm beginning to think that it may be my only option. Does anyone know of a good Dr in New Jersey who uses Realize Bands? Also if my port was flipped, wouldnt I feel it? Or be in pain? Anything?

    Frustrated in New Jersey

Thank you! I am in Monmouth County at this point I would go anywhere- I will give a few of those doctors a call. I don't know why this is so hard!
  9. I have eaten at carrabba's since being banded in August. It was actually one of the first restaurants I ate after surgery. I ordered the grilled chicken with broccoli and mashed potatoes. Made two meals out of it! It is delicious! The salad made be hard to handle at first. The potatoes make it easier for the food to slide down. Love Carrabbas!

    SIZE "6"!!!!!

Your post really inspired me- I am exactly where you were last year. Today I am having one of those- I feel fat and think I gained back all the weight I lost kinda days. I have lost about 58 pounds since August and would like to lose about 30 more to be really happy. I hope that I am where you are next year or very soon. I have been working out with a trainer for about two months- and am hoping this fat is turning to muscle!
  12. I love reading about everyone's success on this board but I also love making friends on facebook. If anyone wants to add me, I'd love to add you and hear about your success! http://www.facebook.com/chrissy217
  13. Today marks my 6 month mark! I have only had two fills one in September and one in October..I am down 44 pounds. I feel great- have eliminated a lot of "garbage" from my diet, and feel I have about 40 more pounds to lose. Even if it takes me longer than 6 months- I am ok with it. This is a journey not a race. I have considered getting another fill but I am afraid to jinx it.
  14. Jiffy makes these snack size cups..I eat them everyday. They are small and a great source of protein!
