Trouble With Lap Band Fill?
Thanks everyone. I definitely was too full and had to end up getting the 1/2 cc completely taken back out. I don't know why I'm so sensitive but I will have to stick to 1/4 cc fills.

Trouble With Lap Band Fill?
I just had a 1/2 cc fill after only having a 1/4 cc fill a couple of months ago. I drank liquids fine yesterday. Today I have not been able to drink any liquid and continue to slim up. I'm not sure if this could be due to swelling or irritation. Any input from anyone??????

Food Getting Stuck?!!!
Thanks for all of the comments, it really helps to get a feel for what could help. For me personally, I have not vomited yet but I also haven't had a fills yet. I have to imagine that once I get a fill it will be much more sensitive. I hope we all remember to chew more and eat slower .

Food Getting Stuck?!!!
I had surgery almost two weeks ago. I'm on regular soft foods. I think my food is getting stuck sometimes because OMG do I have this terrible pain in my chest and don't know what to do. I try to chew my food as best as I can but I sometimes forget. My whole life I have eaten fast and I don't chew very well. So now I'm trying to reteach my self new habits. Today I had such a bad episode and I didn't know if I should drink something or if I should throw up or let it be. I know that I'm not supposed to have liquids with my meal so what do you do in this situation???? It finally passed. It didn't want to come back up and it took its sweet time going down. Ugh, it hurt but that teaches me. I won't being doing that again.

Gas pain
I was also getting the same pain. I woke up from surgery with the shoulder pain. I continued to get it every single time I would have gas build up. It didn't go away until I took some prescribed naproxen to reduce the inflammation and relax the muscles. I haven't had a problem since. I hope this helps. Good luck!

I AM STARVING ON PRE-OP DIET
I was able to drink slim fast as my shake. That really helped. Then I had my broth. And when my hunger was unbearable, I had as many jellos as I needed just to keep me going. Its not easy but try to keep yourself busy too. I'm two days after operation and I have to say that I'm not struggling now with the hunger. So, it does help to do this now. It will be easier later. Good Luck!!!

Pre-op diet - starving
Kiskis, I so feel your pain! I've been on the same diet as you for the past week. My surgery is on Thursday and I'm starving. I hope its easier after surgery. But I will say that it has forced me to see some of my issues and bad habits with food because I can't stop thinking about eating. I am mourning food. Well keep up the good work and good luck.

The BIG secret!!
I haven't told everyone either about my upcoming surgery either. My husband and two close friends are the only ones that know. I don't need everyone prying and judging. I deal with that enough now that I'm heavy, I don't need it when I'm going thru a life changing ordeal. I agree with everyone else. This isn't cheating. This is being strongh enough to admit that I have a problem that I can't deal with on my own and need some help. This is a very huge deal to me to put myself under surgery just to loose weight and gain my life back. It's a scary thought and process. My husband isn't too thrilled about me having surgery which makes it more difficult to handle. He keeps thinking that I should be able to do it on my own. He thinks that because I wasn't heavy before that I should be able to get to my small size again without the need of surgery. He doesn't understand how complex my weight issue really is. How emotional and psychological it is. I snapped at him a couple of weeks ago and told him that I was going to do this with or without him. He didn't have to agree but he could try to be supportive. Since then he's definately done his best to be supportive but still doesn't understand. Last night was the first time we had a calm conversation about it (without me getting emotional) and I was able to open up some to him and explain how difficult it is to control my food issues. I think its starting to sink in for him. The hardest part for me is not telling my mom about the surgery. I feel like I'm betraying her by keeping this big secret. We're really close but some things she doesn't accept well when she doesn't agree with them or feel that she has some control in it. Sometimes she tries to be encouraging about loosing weight and suggesting new things but sometimes, she's an ass about it. She has some weight on her so when she looses a couple of pounds she rubs it my face. Its obviously good and she does and she should be proud and I encourage her but she doesn't have to rub it in. I don't know if she realizes that she does it. Either way, all of us are doing this surgery for our better good in one way or other. If this is what works for us then thats all that should matter. Good luck to everyone. BTW, it's great having everyone to share their storying. It shows that we are not alone thru all of this.

Well bust my bubble !!!
I agree with Lady Jenna. If this is something that you think works best for you, then stick with it. Explain it to your doctor and if he still does not see eye to eye with you then you need to find another doctor. Don't let this experience get you down. If anything, gain knowledge and strength from it and keep going forward. Good luck to you. Keep us posted!
