  1. I just experienced the same situation. I got my first fill and it felt a little tight but i was getting some stuff down. Then a week ago it really tightened up and by the time I was able to see the doctor for an unfill the band had slipped. I am now unfilled and will be that way for 6 weeks and then will be able to get another fill.
  2. I have been reading about people eating rice, but I tried it the other day (with sauce) and have been having problems ever since. Have finally resorted to a liquid diet for a couple of days to see if that resolves the problem. Anyone else attempted rice? If yes, was it a successful experiement?
  3. I was banded on January 20th and basically 3 weeks after banding could eat as much as I could before (though smaller bites). I got my first fill a week ago and am only able to eat a little (particularly in the mornings) and even more importantly I feel full. The first day after the fill I did liquids and then tried to switch to regular food and had a horrible time. Since then I have been doing mushier regular food (cottage cheese, tuna fish...), though sometimes I surprise myself and can get down some chicken. All I can say is that the fill made a huge difference and I have lost 5 lbs in a week since getting it (my wieght loss had stalled the weeks before my fill).
  4. I had surgery on Saturday and was back at work on Monday. The only thing was I still had to wear very comfortable clothing and by the end of the day I was exhausted, but it is doable.
  5. How long does the swelling last after surgery?
  6. I was banded by Dr. Kuri and thought he, his staff and the hospital were wonderful. It is very convenient to San Diego and they pick you up at the airport (though the size of their van leaves something to be desired, you would think they they would realize they are picking up larger than average size people:ermm). I would have no reservations recommending him to anyone.
  7. I am going to Mexico (another insurance denial) for my surgery in 2 weeks:clap2: I am excited and nervous but have been reading a lot of the information here and am ready to go for it. Any one else being (or been) banded by Dr. Kuri?
