  1. i went to "boot camp" thursday and it was pretty cool. They had 8 of us have a meeting with the head nurse on the OR floor that specializes in just lapband surgery/recovery. it was very informative bacause we could ask whatever questions we had. we also did a couple preop test blood/urine tests and talked to the anesthesiologist. then went back to the surgeons office to have a checkup with him. it wasnt quite as long as i was told i was home by 4
  2. I am having surgery 1/17 by dr onopchenko out of Atlantic city nj. The Thursday before the week of your surgery they have every one come in to the hospital for what they call boot camp. I was just wondering if anyone else has experience this with their own surgeons. Apparently we are doin some pre-op tests just before surgery but we will be there from 10 am till 7pm! Im just curious what to expect. Thanks for the help in advance.
  3. I'm from Vineland nj it's about a 1/2 hour from phila. My prep diet is 14 days and is pretty much 3oz of a lean protein or a protein shake for each meal. It sucked really bad fir the first week but now the hunger doesnt bother me as much and the weight I've lost! I lost 14 lbs in the first 8 days of the diet crazy! Well I hope all of u the best in your own experience..
  4. hello my name is mahlon and im now 7 days from surgery and i cant wait although i am quite nervous! I was just surfing the web and found this site so i figured i drop in a nd see how it was. I now have a pure hatred for chocolate and strawberry protein shakes but other than that my pre op diet is going well i cant belive that ive lost 14 pounds just this week its crazy but exciting. i have a question if anyone could help me. i was diagnosed with a mild sleep apnea i think he said my # was like 8 whatever that means but never the less i have a cpap machine and i can not sllep at all with it! i have not used it and i am worried about what problems this will cause i was told i have to use it for 2 weeks before surgery but i havent. Am i endagering my health come surgery time with the anesthesia or am i just a litlle paranoid. i would appreciate some of your thoughts and look forward to talking to all of you soon!
