  1. Thanks Baileyrose! I was pretty worried about my body going into starvation mode. :-)
  2. Hey, so I'm less than a week post op....when does the swelling go down and when are you able.to eat like you did before? I'm very curious bc still being newly banded I feel like I can't get much down...shakes and all.
  3. Thank you. I'm just concerned bc I'm not getting the calories I need.
  4. Per my post op.instructions I cannot have anything too hot or cold bc it can cause spasms or gas. I feel like I'm having a hard time getting my nutrition in on Clear liquids and shakes. Protein Shakes are disgusting at room temp..... Also, I have one week clear liquids (surg Sept 8th) week 2 full liquids....my follow up with the surgeon is Friday so do I start full on my own Thursday or wait to talk to.him Friday? This transitional period sucks....
  5. I just had surgery Thursday 9/8. Does the feeling of always needing to burp but you can't ever go away?? It's just pressure and I wonder if its just my stomach adjusting or how it will always be?? Thanks!
  6. Looking fantastic!! You're an inspiration!
  7. I had the same thing and I'm still alive.....I think expelling the gas from anesthesia, gas and swelling has a lot to do with it. I'm feeling a lot better myself and the only time it hurts to take a deep breath is when I have a spot of trapped gas. I also want to say again that I DID call my dr on Friday and he had me come to his office. He said he wanted to check my heart rate to make sure it wasn't elevated bc that would be the sign of a problem.
  8. Prop yourself up with a few pillows. I did that on my couch and bed and it seemed to help. I also had to lay for a few minutes and just take some deep breaths and it seemed to allow me to get comfortable. As soon I was able to start taking the liquid hydrocodone and got some good sleep it was like night and day! Sorry you had to go through the weekend like this!
  9. Luckily my Dr uses waterproof bandage stuff so I was allowed to shower as soon as I wanted. That stuff was a pain to get off though!
  10. Haha well that explains it! I'm not really worried about it bc I'm feeling better and can tell I'm healing well. :--
  11. I guess today is day 4 post op and.I've found my stomach is making some strange noises! I'm.trying to.keep shakes and.water going and don't really feel.hungry....it.just sounds angry lol
  12. I would.follow.his.instructions and def not use a loofa or any strongly scented soap on the incisions. That would do nothing but irritate them and make you unhappy!
  13. I used maalox plus with simethicone for gas and had my Dr give me different pain meds and it made a.world of.difference. I also slept in our recliner off and on since laying flat caused a lot.of pressue in my shoulders.
  14. I had the same symptoms you are experiencing. I had surgery Thursday and I'm just starting to feel like I can breathe normally. I had a lot of pressure in my chest and had to cough up some phlem. I wonder if its the gases from anesthesia working its way through our system? My hospital didn't give me a spirometer so I've been huffing and puffing on my own to make.sure my lungs are.clear.
  15. I just feel like I have a lot of.pressure in my chest and stomach.....so ready to feel normal again!
  16. I tried broth last night and it made me nauseous....so...today seems to be better so far. Removed my dressings to see my 5 little sexy scars LOL they have steristrips over then which I guess he will take off when he sees me next week. So far so good!
  17. Grider, I live in Lakeland and used to go to his Wednesday night meetings over here. I haven't been in a while and now that I have my band I plan to attend either in Lakeland or Tampa depending on my schedule.
  18. Surgery went great Thursday.....gas was awful Thursday and Friday...finally started coming out late last night THANK GOD! I am feeling much better today, just struggling with getting in my protein shakes that I need bc I am not hungry at all. Dr. Aguila is awesome! I called yesterday bc I was still in a lot of pain bc the initial pain meds just weren't working well and he wanted me to come in just to make sure everything was ok. He is so caring...gotta love him!
  19. and about 6 cups or more of water through the day
  20. I just had surgery Thursday and I am making myself drink approx 1 shake a day....I need to figure out how to get more in me but I am just not hungry at all.
  21. Oh yeah, I figured this would.put my bowels on lock down LOL I'm just happy to feel better. Now if I could only get rid of this left over gas!
  22. I had surgery yesterday and the tylenol 3 my doc prescribed didn't work at all....went to see him today and he prescribed liquid hydrocodone and Omg I feel like I can sleep and function now. Thank God bc I felt awful!!! Trying to get my protein shakes and water in.....just not hungry at all.
