  1. I quit smoking 1 week pre-op and when Madi Gras came around I started back. I went about 4 weeks without. I will focus on quiting next year after most of the weight is gone.
  2. My doctor too said that but it was because the first six months they want you to focus on losing most of your weight. As long as I am losing I will do it 1-2 times a month.lol
  3. I just realized today, I think a lot of what we think is hunger, is really gas or food and beverage passing through because right after I ate lunch my stomach was rumbling. I heard this somewhere too but didn't really believe untill it happen to me right after I ate. I guess its something we will have to deal with and remember to ask our self is it really hunger.
  4. $12,900. Plus 125.00-150.00 for the first visit. That includes 1 year of post-op visits and fills. www.whyweight.com
  5. I waited to have wine 4 weeks after surgery. I was bad and could not just have one, I had a few. lol I guess one glass should not hurt. I have a few drinks about 1-2 times a month. I have not drank since my first fill, I will proberly get tipsy on one glass. Just take it easy.
  6. I think that is pretty normal, I ate things I wasn't supose to 3 days after like meat. I chewed really well and took tiny bites, I didn't have a problem at all. Your weight loss looks good. I just got my first fill Thusday and let me tell you, it was time. I thought for sure I was going to gain but I loss like 6lbs from my 1 week post-op appointment. The Dr. told me that I was doing great. My mom lost 7lbs, we had surgery the same day. Don't get discouraged, you are doing fine. When will you get your 1st fill?
  7. Marissa and Lily, How are you doing? I am sure you must be feeling better about yourself.
  8. I felt the same as you. I guess if it does not last that long , we will get it taken out and another one put in. I will be 28 this month.
  9. I priced a tummy tuck @ a local Doctor, they start @ $10,000. I will shop around when I am ready for one. Did anyone price around?
  10. Hi nice to meet you but, Sorry I never heard of him. Where is he located?
  11. I don't know anyone who had it at Oschners but I had mine at Southern Surgical in Slidell, it was very nice and clean. A friend of mind had hers at Omega Hospital, I heard it was realy nice. Good Luck to you!
  12. Thanks so much. I really loved it! Let me know if you find some more good recipes.
  13. Who had posted the meatloaf recipe and where can I find it again? I tried it and it was really good. I just can't find my recipe. Thanks!
  14. Its nice to meet you, I am from Raceland, La. Do you go to any of the lapband meetings? Where were you banded at? I was banded with Dr. French at Southern Surgical.
  15. :Banane08:Just was wondering how many people from South Louisiana there are on this site.:cocktail:
  16. I would love to have one just to eliminate some stretch marks from being pregnent. Its good to know insurance would pay for it, for those reasons. I guess I will see in a year what I look like but, having all these stretch marks I know it will not look good. I am just looking forward to looking good in clothes right now. Thanks for all your comments.
  17. Hi, I was banded Jan 23rd. I am 27 and wish I was able to get this when I was a few years younger. Congrats to all of you.
  18. Yes crab is pretty mushy.
  19. I hear that if you drink a lot of Water you should not have sagging skin but that is hard to believe.
  20. I am just wondering how many people need or have had tummy tucks after being banded? I want to know if I need to start saving my $$$.
  21. I eat Redfish. It is really good, saute onions and green oinions in Olive oil and then put the fish in a pan and put the onions on top and cook it for a few min. It is really good. I don't know where you would buy it. My husband fishes often and we live near the gulf. I also cook bacon wrapped shrimp occasionly, I marinate them in wine, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  22. Hi to all of you. I am about 30 miles from the New Orleans Area. Closer to Houma. I had my surgery www.whyweight.com with Dr. French. It would really be nice to stay in-touch with all of you. We may run into each one day.
  23. I do not regret it one bit, I would do it again. I don't think it is very hard to follow the rules but I guess everyone is different. I go for my first fill thursday. I would recommend it to anyone who has struggled with a weight problem. My mom also had it done the same day and we are both doing great. I would say maybe 10% of the people that do it may reget it for those reasons. I know someone who had it done and she just vomited the whole time and had to get it remove, she then went with the by-pass and is doing great. I was self-pay too. If you do, Good luck to you and hope everythng goes well. Any questions, just ask.
  24. Today I noticed I am more hungry in the PM hours. I can go almost all day without eating but about 5pm my stomach starts growling.
  25. Hi Marissa, I am 27 fixing to be 28. I wish I would have done this a long time ago but it was really exspensive when I first looked into it. I don't think you would regret it. Let me know what you decide.
