I'm enjoying your blog. Thanks for the recipes. What brand of protein powders are you using? I got the Unjury unflavored one and it is icky. I was banded 12/8 and have 1 more (long) week of full liguid diet b4 pureeds. I need to beef up my protein intake - haven't done a protein shake at all yet. Lin
  2. Hi everyone! Well, I am now a Dec. bandster - done on the 8th. Have been pretty sore on left side from one of the ports, so still taking meds, but went back to work today (work from home). Surgery went slick - I hadn't had surg since tonsils when I was 7. They kept me overnight, which they routinely do, and I've been doing fine for an "old" gal (I'll be 57 on Dec. 27th). I'm down 9 lbs since 12/1 when I started the full liquid diet. I tried the unflavored Unjury protein powder both in yogurt and in water - it was ghastly. There is no way I can drink that stuff and of course, I bought 2 jars of it, thinking it would have no flavor! Now not sure what to do about getting extra protein. At this point, I will be doing the full liquid diet for 2 weeks before moving to pureeds. I haven't been hungry at all. I "eat" 3 oz at meals usually Coco Wheats, soup, yogurt, or pudding. The rest of the time I sip water, broth, sugar free hot chocolate. Very glad the whole surgery-thing is done. Only had 1 time since, that I thought "what have you gone and done, you idiot?" But I quit smoking 2 years ago after smoking for over 30 years and if I could do that, I can do this!! I can be very stubborn Keep your chins up, Dec. bandsters - we can do this! Lin
  3. Hi everyone! I'm new to the forum. I am scheduled for my band on Dec. 8th. I start a full liquid diet on 12/1 and then again for 2 weeks post-op. I'm nervous, but excited. I'm so tired of failing where my weight is concerned. I hope this will help me control myself and my portions. I look forward to sharing this journey with you. No one will understand the ups and downs the way fellow bandsters can!
