1. Ok, now I'm hear to cheer y'all up! I had the week or not losing and now I dropped a couple over the past few days. Apparently, this is normal but we are all just anxious! I know I am! As for the constipation, yeah, I'm still there, too. Oy! It is amazing to me that almost all of us have the lull in the weight loss around the same time. I go for my fill on 3/22 and I cannot wait. I've been good on my own but I'm looking to lose the hunger pains that I have to fight through. WE WILL DO THIS!!! BTW, does anyone communicate with smokey? I am a little worried. She was sooo active on here and now she has vanished. I'm worried also because she has mentioned in passing that she has had a tough time with her abusive ex. I don't mean to worry anyone else but I was hoping that maybe someone communicates with her personally.
2. What did the doc say? Did you call?
3. Jachut, You don't know me but I've been reading your posts over the past few months when I see them. I know you have mentioned that you are going through medical problems now but I never knew for what. Now, I see you are going through chemo. I'm not being nosy. I sincerely just hope that whatever you are fighting goes away quickly and that you are 100% well very soon. Best regards.

4. We will win this battle! One pound at a time!!!
5. If so, please tell us how it went! How do you feel? Are you still hungry? Don't make me go and make a Feb Fill Roll Call!
6. I'm thinking she and a few others will be getting fills soon. I can't wait to hear all about it. Is smokey MIA?
7. sophinator, how are you doing today? i'm with you...the first three days SUCKED, imho! lol day four was like a whole new day and each day gets better as we go along. this is the 5th surgery i ever had and i felt worse with this one than three of the others! lol go figure! i didn't expect it. but at least the worst of it ends after three days. i can't wait to get the fill on the 22nd. i'm hungry but controlling myself. that means i feel like i'm starving myself. i feel so nervous about my cruise because i fear a food binge if i'm not restricted enough. we will all make it through this together.
8. I will try them. I have tried everything else that has been suggested. Benefiber is going to be my next remedy. Thanks everyone!
9. Okay, so I just got back from the doc. Of course, my loss showed less than at home this morning because it was later in the day but... I'm down the 20 since 1 wk pre op according to them. The surgeon said he knows I will be feeling hungry now and that is to be expected. He also told me that he doesn't even care if I lose NOTHING from now until after my first fill. He said my goal is to just maintain. Sigh... I WANT TO KEEP LOSING!!! The dietician said we are in lapband hell now. We have our appetites back with no restriction due to the swelling going down. So, this is why we are all experiencing the big weight loss stall. I am getting a fill on 3/22 even though I am leaving for a cruise a few days later. He said he will give me restriction but not as much since he wouldn't want to overdo it and risk my having problems while on vacation. He said I will definitely have restriction though. I told him I better have it since I can do a LOT of damage in one week on a cruise. OY! So, that is the scoop for today.
10. It seems to be happening to us all! I lost 20 lbs in 17 days and now in the last week I think I am down only a half of a pound. I don't think the constipation is helping me either. Sorry if TMI. I go to the doc today and we'll see what their scale says. I know they will be saying that I did so well but that was LAST week. Then...standstill. I knew I wouldn't lose rapidly the whole time but I didn't really expect to stop dead when we are only eating 1K or less calories! I walked on the treadmill only once so far but I will be starting that daily soon. I want this weight to start moving again. Also, I am going on a cruise at the end of the month and I was hoping to drop another 15 before we went. Now, that is doubtful! Waaaaaah!
11. Hi readers... I'm still plugging along but truthfully I am feeling hungry. I know that I will have to be strong during this period of time. It isn't horrendous but I still have about 5 weeks until my first fill. The reason being that I was to be filled in a few weeks but it will be 4 days before I go on a cruise...not a good idea to have a first fill and then be out of the country; right? So, I'm anticipating the surgeon putting it off until I come back from the cruise. Oh well... I hope that when you get to that "sweet spot" you don't feel hungry any longer. Your lower stomach doesn't growl anymore? I get how you will only have a little bit of food before the pouch is full but what about the big bottom part? That seems to be where the growls come from; right? I'm coming down with something (wicked sore throat) so I plan on going to bed early and calling it a night. One more day of being a good bander down... I know this is forever and there will be no end and I'm okay with it. I hope if you are reading this that you are having a bandtabulous day!
12. My first appt was 5 days post op. My second one is 19 days post op. I know my next one will be at 6 wks post op. It is supposed to be my first fill. HOWEVER, I am going on a cruise 4 days later so I suspect he will not do the fill until I get back from the cruise which will then be 8 wks post op.
13. Hey Sophinator, I was very nauseas the first 36 hours. While in the hospital I was given a lot of anti nausea meds in my IV. I forget the first one but the second one was reglan (sp?) and that one seemed to work. Since I've been home I have not had any nausea. HOWEVER, I had a lot of other crazy issues. I'm 17 days post op and I'm still having issues here and there. I am constipated, gassy, have a side cramp (similiar to a stitch you get when running) and an achy leg. All of this is still tolerable and I'm not taking any pain meds. I chew gas x but don't think it helps. I''m also taking a plethora of anti constipation meds (including miralax, senokot, cholase, etc.) I guess once I start eating more things will get better in that dept? I would call your doc and speak to the nurse about something for anti nausea. This surgery is not for sissies!! (and I'm thinking we are all tough cookies!) Hugs
14. Days go by... This week it was five days before... well, you know. Anyone else dealing with constipation? And yes, I am drinking all of the Water.
15. Let's see... so far today I have had two Protein drinks (vanilla, dymatize), and one dannon vanilla greek yogurt. I was actually staring at a salad in the cafeteria and decided to be GOOD. I knew I'd only eat a few bites anyway so what a waste. I've had chili so far. Basically, if it is mushy or can be made mushy, I'm okay at this stage per my doc. I'm making very good choices and I'm quite proud of myself. HOWEVER, anyone else having ummmm, constipation issues? I don't seem to go. I think I'm on day four right now. Ugh...
16. Good for you that you are getting a fill in two weeks! I'm not getting one until 6 wks post op. Congrats on your weight loss, too. You are doing great! I don't see a problem with you using the phentermine in the short term. I'm sure once you get filled, you will not be hungry anymore but until then, anything that helps you stay on track, is good!
17. Best wishes to you, my fellow Blondie. sugar free ice pops were my friend. Sugar free Jello, chicken broth, tylenol. Good luck!
18. What is lortab? I had morpheine overnight in the hospital and then was sent home with Tylenol/Codeine. I didn't use the Ty/Co because I knew that I would feel better if I got off the drugs.
19. I'm on day 11 post op. I consider it all starting on 2/5 which was the start of my one week pre-op diet. As of today, I have lost 20 lbs in 17 days. I'm THRILLED. My stomach is still very bruised up (but clearing up slowly) and my port site is the only one that hurts still. I worked for the first time since surgery and I was fine. I'm not anxious to eat real foods yet. pureed seems safer to me. I'm so afraid of binge eating again. Also, last night I made the mistake of taking a bite of very soft (made in crock pot) chicken and got stuck. It hurt! I barfed...two times. OY! I was just speaking to a successful bander and she told me to "just follow the diet" and you will lose. I won't deviate. I don't want this to be for nothing!
20. I hope the following bandsters had a good surgery yesterday and today... 2/21/11-hoagy 2/22/11-Elle23 2/22/11-FilleSudiste Best of luck to the rest of the February bandsters (per the Feb roll call list) 2/23/11-Angel2001 2/25/11-Sophinator 2/28/11-Post Modern Retro Pretty
21. Best wishes to you! You will do great!
22. Tom I haven't had the lull yet but I know I will be mad when I do! You are doing GREAT and will continue to do so. I just figure that it is going to take as awhile and there will be great weeks and some notsogreat weeks in terms of weight loss. Eating as little as you are, you are going to lose! It is impossible not to. Maybe you shld take measurements for those times when you don't see the scale move but you will still see the inches decrease! You are working out and you will end up doing this faster than you think! I haven't worked out yet but you have just motivated me to go downstairs and walk for a little while on the treadmill. Thanks for inspiring me!
23. Oh Grace, I'm so sorry. I am glad they stopped though so you wouldn't be in danger. Be well!
24. Ive been a good patient and pureeing a lot of things. Last night I took a bite of my daughter's crock pot chicken left over and either I didn't chew it enough, or ate it too fast or whatever but it wasn't fun! To describe the pain...did you ever drink Water too fast and you get that big air bubble in your chest? That was almost exactly how I felt but it dragged on until I barfed...twice.
25. I weighed myself today and since 2/5/11 (started pre-op diet), I have lost 20 lbs! I was banded on 2/11/11 so I'm thrilled with my results so far. I have some ways to go, of course, but I can feel the difference in my clothes, my face looks less bloated and my stomach is starting to go down. I worked today for the first time since surgery and I did feel pretty sore when I got home in the port site. I also seemed to have some majorly trapped gas in my body last night and into today. I'm doing pretty darned well with this. I'm proud of myself! I had a little incident last night where I think I didn't chew up a piece of soft chicken well enough or ate it too fast. I dunno but it got stuck, it hurt...ultimately I barfed (different barfing post band)...twice. I cannot wait to get into ONEderland. I'm four lbs away from that. I hope to see it within the next two weeks. Yippee! Life is good...
