I Just found out I am approved. I will be having surgery next week on the 29th hopefully. I am excited and scread at the same time. I am ready for the change. If anyone has any advice to give, that would be great!

I just submitted my paperwork to my insurance yesterday (BC/BS of CA). Hopefully they will approve it. I am kind of scared that I will be denied because I really don’t have a primary doctor and just went to any doctor to get them to refer me for WLS. Hopefully this will be enough. Does anyone have BC/BS of CA? If so, can you please tell me if they approved you fast, did they require a lot from your primary doctor?

Thank you Cangel!!! That is true. I would like my body to lose it slow. That way it is not in so much shock. I notcied you just got the band. How do you like it? Did you lose the 26.5 pounds before the band or since you get banded?

So I went to a seminar for the Lap band and the doctor confused me. He talked about all the WLS available including the Duodenal Switch. He told me that since my BMI was 40.1 that he would do the lap band if I really want it. But then he told me if I want the best results then the duodenal switch. But I don’t know if I want parts of my body cut up, but then I don’t want to get the lap band and not lose any weight. I see so many success stories on here and I want to be one of them. Can some of you please tell me your stories with the lap band and what you went through???? The good and the bad, or if you know any one that has the DS done.

I have the Anthem as well. How long did the whole process take you?

Hello all, I have always been heavy all my life. So I decided to answer one of those 1-800-getthin ads. Has anyone ever been banded by them? If so how did it go? I went for a office visit and everything went so fast. They want to schedule everything so fast. Did anyone else go through this? Also I am so scared to go through with it, but I know I need to? Any advice?
