  1. Finally banded. It all went great except for an upset stomach right after surgery, and than again that night. But so far that hasn't happened anymore and I feel great. Somewhat tired, but doing good. Not hungry. have gas pains in my left shoulder and some time in my chest. But other than that I feel great and I'm looking for great results. Lydia:):clap2::whoo:
  2. I think it was just the nurse that got the ins. approved. she never contacted me back so I finally called and they had a new one within a month. Of course she never got back in contact with me I had to call her 3 or 4 times and each time she'd say she didn't have one thing or another. But I think that was a crock. This lady got me right in there. So good luck and don't let them leave you hanging like I did.
  3. Hey I finally got a date. It's Sept. 20th for the lap band surgery. Looking forward to being on the Losing team.. Lydia
  4. :help: I had to go to the hospital last night for pains in my right chest and back, and they said they believed it to be my gallbladder. Told me to stay off eggs, fats, caffene and a long list and if that worked to settle the pain down, than I can be sure it's gallbladder. Well wouldn't you know it, today it's been better. I have an appointment, 1st appointment with my lapband surgeon on the 28th, and I was hoping if that was my problem that I could have it all done at the same time, but it's been going on for around 3 weeks. 1st week I stays quizzy, and than it went away and than my chest hurt, so the mom's clinic here sent me to ER.. this ER here in Henderson, KY, and that doc. tried to say it's my heart, I knew better than that and had to argue with him and make him check my past records. I had a cath done about a year ago and my arteries are clean. So he finally agreed to let me go home, but didn't like it. All this time it's been the gallbladder, but last night was a bad night, not throwing up or no fever yet, but how long can you wait before getting something done. and after your first visit how long will it take to get surgery? Would love some input. Thanks Lydia 3/22/07 Went to docs. office and will have 2 more gallbladder tests on mon. here. to find out what is going on.. And I'm excited to finally get to go to Dr. Allens office tomorrow. It's finally here. I can't wait. but will post more later.. Lydia

  6. Just came across your baby's picture, and she is beautiful. So happy for you. newbie, Lydia
  7. I'm from Henderson, Ky, but when I was in Jr. high and 9th grade I lived in Hopkinsville. My brother in law came from there. His name is E.G. Gilford. He was married to Norma McCord and their daugher still lives there. Her maiden name was Angela Gilford. I've been hoping to find an old school friend. her name was Donna Mart. I've looked at classmates.com but she's not on there. If you know her I'd love to hear from her. My maiden name was Littrell, graduated in 1977 here in Henderson. Anyway, I've got an appointment on the 5th of Feb. to do the Physco (lol) test. They said it would take around 4 or more hours. so I don't know what all they do. Surely thats not the time it takes to see if I'm crazy or not. I can answer that is 2 secs. yes I am.. hahaha. Hope to hear from ya'll and possibly make some good friends on line. Lydia:straight
  8. Does anyone have information on how much it will cost me after medicare pays there part. and they say first visit is $100.00 and co pay. I know my copay is $30.00 for specialist doctors and $15.00 for the reg. doctors, so how much will I need for the first appointment to see the Physic evaulation. Is there a copay for this, and do I see anyone else on this visit. I know they say it will take up to 4 hours of more. So any information will be so helpful. Thanks Lydia:paranoid
  9. Thank you, I need all the luck I can get. lol. I'm just so happy to finally get things going. I got my letter from the hospital this morning confirming the appt. Do you know what all they do at this appointment. Is it just the physic evaluation or are there any other tests. I just know it takes 4 hours or more. Lid
  10. Doctor's office called the Tues. morning to set me up for the Physic test and I guess other tests. I'm not sure. I know it's for 4 to 5 hours, surely I'm not that crazy. lol. Just so glad to finally get things going. Oh yeah, my appointment is Feb. 5th in Louisville, KY. Still not sure what Dcotor. Just hope for the best. Lid:faint:
  11. Dr. Jeffery Allen, and Rodriques (?) are in the Norton surburban hospital, and Dr. Shina is on the other side of Louisville. He seems pretty nice. I've only been to Shina's seminar, and will problally go to Allen or one of them with him.. If you call the Norton hospital they will connect you to that office. Lydia
  12. Hi,, I'm from KY,,, I'm going to Louisville, that is as soon as they process everything. I've sent in my packet and went to the seminar, but haven't seen a doc. yet. If your in Louisville, or any of you, I'm planning on going to Dr. Allen or one of his group.. maybe I'll see some of you there. Lydia

:cry I'm just waiting for a call to get the whole process started. I'm 239 lbs about 5'1/2" and very disgusted with myself being so fat. I'm on humana/medicare from KY. I've had 4 back surgeries that has left me disabled, and I've gained so much weight with this injury, I just want some of my life back. I'm sure most of you know this feeling. I've been to a seminar in Louisville, Ky and I've filled out the packet, and just waiting to hear that I have an appointment to get this started. I guess they are sending the information to my ins. to see if it's going to cover. I'm just finding out this week that the thing I was hoping to avoid which is diabetis that runs in the family is starting to hit me. I've noticed blurred vision, but didn't know my sugar was the cause of it. So now I'm more in a hurry to get this surgery started. Well when I hear from something I will update this.. prayers are with you all.. I'm here for anyone out there that wants to talk or vent. Lydia Finally got a date to do my Physic evaluation. Feb 5th. So happy its all finally starting. Can't wait to see the weight falling off.. Will update as I go... Lid 02/06/2007 :clap2: Well finally the process has started. I am suppose to possibly hear whether I am approve or not within 4 weeks. But everything went great. My body mass is 43.6 and I hope to someday say it's 25 or below. My dad said he thinks the lap band is a waste of time, but I just don't agree with that. I know that I'm doing all I can do and God said that is all that is required of me and he will be there for the rest. So just keep me in your prayers and I'll do the same

  15. Hi, I'm a kentuckian, I'm going to Louisville, just don't know which doctor yet. It's either Allen, or two other doctors at the Norton Pavilon hospital. I'm just now starting. I'm just wondering what my ins. will pay, I have Humana/medicare and since they've changed everything, I'm not sure of anything. But I'm giving it my best. I have a BMI of 45, and sleep problems but no apnea. I have had 4 back surgeries, that has left me disabled. Any suggestions or comments here would be great. Lydia
  16. I really apprecaite the support, I just wish I could hurry and get on the Loser side. I read that you go through stages of eating before you get to eat normal food again. That is the only thing I worry about. I can't see me eating pureed chicken or turkey or anything meat wise for that matter. Any suggestions on this I would definitely appreciate. Lydia:phanvan
  17. I'm new here, just getting started with the lap band process. I went to my first seminar, and I'm sending in my packet tomorrow. My MD doctor is all for this. If there is anything that anyone can tell me that will help me, I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks Lydia:hungry:
