  1. I heard from a doctors nurse that the rice will swell up in your stomach and that you should stay away from it.
  2. debH, don't be so down on yourself, we are all going through the same thing . It will pick up when we get a fill or two to that sweet spot and we will start losing the weight. remember, the first few weeks we need to concern our selves with healing and getting used to the body. I know we can do this, just think about the great things that are to come.............................................:smile2:
  3. I had my surgery on 10/26. Doing good, except for the belching, when does that stop?Start back to work on monday. I have lost 27 pounds so far, really happy about that. I go back wed for my first post op app. I already have 3 cc in at time of surgery, but i am looking forward to mushies..yum, yum.
  4. I will be starting mushies in a couple of days . How much of a serving do i eat? I dont want to mess up anything in there. Do I have 1/4 cup or 1/2 cup or what? I had 3 cc's put in at the time of surgery. Please let me know,SO READY FOR MUSHIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I also had the hernia repair, and i think that is the discomfort that i feel now. but its getting better.
  6. Hey, I had that same feeling, had my band on 10/26 . I think that is pretty common feeling from what i have heard. just get them to check again for your peace of mind. I am are ready getting over the feeling and have lost 25 pds since the post op diet.Yeah me.
  7. I had my surgery on 10/26, wasn't hungry till about 2 days ago, but have till 11/10 to stay on liquids. Why is it some doctors have you on liquids 2 days or 1 week or 2weeks like in my case? I am starting to feel alittle weak, have lost 11 pounds in 1 week! I know at this stage you are to just be concern with healing , so i am kind of worried. I have to go back to work monday and i don't know if i can get do it. Next, when i do get to eat mushies, what are some that are good for you? I need ideas. My doctor did put 3 cc in at time of surgery, do i doubt i have any restriction. comments, please........................................................
  8. Wll, I got to be included in this group. I was banded and had a hiatal hernia repair on 10/26 . Boy , it has been something. I have lost a total of 21 pounds since post op appt. I am so happy about that. It has been years since i have been this weight. I get kind of weepy about if. I guess its hormones, yeah that's it......anyway, i know i am not getting enough liquids, but i am trying. Not having much pain, just a little sore. I have only taken 2 pain pills since surgery[dont like the way they make me fill] I have already been to store and have been doing a little walking. So its going good, i have hungry pains,but i am not hungry..................Dont go back to doctor till 11/10. Hope everybody keeps on the same road to our new thiner selfs....................................:wink2:

  10. thanks, I cant get that many protein drinks either. I try jello and maybe yogurt. Right now , andy thing like chicken or beef broth makes me sick at my stomach. It just does'n sound good

  13. Yeah, my husband went and got me some gas relief meds. Hopefully it will get better. Did you know you had the hernia before surgery? I didnt , it was a shock to wake up and be told that they had repaired it. I think thats alot of the pressure we are feeling. the nurse said it was swollen from the repair, and it would get better. lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. I am 3days into post op and i am still belching alot. is that normal? Is that just part of the gas thing or what? i did have a hiatal hernia repair at the same time,could that be it? Hope someone can enlighten me....................................:thumbup:

  16. Boy, this is worst than i thought it would be. besides being banded, they found a hiatal hernia that they repaired. I think that is what i am feeling . cant seem to be able to drink anything, doesnt sound good,doesnt taste good. I need to get some kind of liquid in me, but what? the nurse said there would be extra swelling from the hernia repair , and try to get some protein down. i am also constantly belching. ugh.....................................:sneaky:
  17. My process was also very fast, about a month. surgery on the 26 of this month. Yes, I am very nervous about it also . I think we all are, it's a big step.

  20. I am being banded oct.26. Getting a little nervous. I have been up and down in my weight, I knew i had to make a change and i feel this is it. I want to be around to enjoy grandchildren, and being with my husband. So here goes nothing. .:wink2:
