  8. Hello I have two questions...first i am from brandon mississippi and was wondering if anyone on here lives close so we can chat and maybe be support for each other thru our journey....second...i have sleep apnea and have to wear a cpap machine but since i have gotten banded i haven't been able to wear it much because it puts air in my stomach and cause severe pain and was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?? thanks for your help
  9. hello all..i had my surgery oct 20 and i have lost 20.8 lbs i feel no restriction hardly and my apt for fill isn't until the 24th of this month....i haven't had an easy go of it either...first i had allergic reaction to glue they put on incisions...then i was having esophageal spasms and got dehydrated and had to be hospitalized for four more day...with a total of two and half weeks of liquids most of that was clear liquids..lol...now my incision where my port is is infected and i am currently on antibiotics....i am doing ok at keeping a positive attitude about all that has happened and not having much weight loss...i have lost one pound in almost two weeks....but i keep telling myself i am gaining muscle...because that is usually what happens...i would like to find some local bandsters to meet and hang out with that understand why i got banded and what i am going thru...so if anyone is around brandon mississippi i would love to hear from you...and anyone else that has any thing encouraging to share...
  10. congrats!!...hang in there it will be here before you know it!!

well you just got to keep your head up and know that it isn't easy and everyone lapses at time....i haven't gotten to full menu yet...i just got chicken and seafood added but still have to be pretty much chopped up...when i get hungry i mix protein powder in my drinks and that seems to help...good luck

this worries me because eating the way you always have regardless of portion size got you in the shape you are in no offend....just my opinion...i myself know that i didn't just spend 12000 dollars of my hard earned money so i could cut my portion size....its a whole life changing experience...and yeah after having nothing but clear liquids for almost two weeks....healthy food sounds and tastes AMAZING!!!and when you get farther in the process maybe you will change your mind about it and hopefully not be tooo mad at me for just stating the obvious

Well I am 8 days post op and doing really good...i have lost 19.55 lbs so far. i am still a little sore at surgicial site but other than that i am good. i have seen many on this site talk about eating hamburgers and bread and stuff that isn't on the diet and i was wondering and please don't take offense to this but i was wondering how many have actually changed their way of eating and lifestyle?..mine has completely changed and i know i have just started but i just don't look at food the same anymore. I also paid for this surgery out of pocket so that might be a factor that makes me more determined to get the full benefit from the band. also any advice from other banders is welcome.
