I was scared to death. But, the hospital staff was nice. The surgical team was excellent. After they put the oxygen mask on me...I didn't remember a thing. I briefly remember waking up in recovery, having my vitals check every so often, and sucking on ice chips. I had GI in the morning, and my blood sugar checked, as well as my potassium level. My surgery was scheduled for 9:30 am...my potassium was 2.8--it needed to be about 3.0 for the surgery to occur. So they gave me an IV drip of pot
I am a single parent of two children, 16 and 10. So I spent most of the day doing laundry, making meals for the next few days for them, and hugging them alot. I know that I am going to be ok, but I still feel a little nervous. I asked my parents not to come....I have a feeling my father will probably show up tomorrow anyway. I am so used to doing things on my own...that I really don't want to burden or worry anyone.
My surgery is scheduled for this Monday! For the last couple of nights I have been very nervous. Suffering through a 14 day liquid diet that I have cheated on too many times. Wondering if I have tried enough before getting to this option? Two days, and now I feel better. I finally told my parents about the surgery, and they were unexpectedly supportive.
