Had my follow up visit with my doctor (Dr. Umbach) today to make sure I have everything in before we submit to insurance. I have Anthem Lumenos and the requirements seem to be pretty easy in comparison to others I've heard about. Now it's in god's hands and I have to wait to see if I'm approved or not.

I'm 5'4" and weigh 238 pounds. Has anyone else had experience with this plan? How fast were you approved? I've read that some are getting it back pretty quickly but the Dr's receptionist said 2-3 weeks. I'm really hoping for a surgery date in September.

BTW anyone looking for a Dr. in Vegas - I LOVE Umbach, both he and his staff have been amazing helping me start my journey.

LOL you have NOOO idea. A co-worker recently had the surgery and I was telling her about it grinning like a kid at Christmas. I can't wait, only 7 more days :blushing:

Well, just found out I'm approved!!!! I guess my insurance hadn't received all my paperwork so they denied it yesterday only to get the paperwork and approve it today!!! Holly is scheduling my surgery now!

OK, so my pre-op appt is on the 15th and I also have the nutritional orientation from 1-3 that same day. When is yours?

My bariatric review is also on the 15th at 1pm. I'll see you then!

To anyone else reading this thread - Myself and mmmorgan are both proof that an initial denial is NOT the time to give up. Let your doctor fight for you, they will trust us they will :laugh:.

So Holly called me this morning and moved my surgery up to 1 pm on Wednesday instead of 5 pm. YAY! The sooner the better. Are you staying the night in the hospital? I'm planning on it.
