Looks like I'm going to be self pay. Just called Aetna and they said I'm not covered what-so-ever.

Anyone else have a similar experience with Aetna or another insurance company? If so, how did you finance it? What are your payments like? It looks like I'll need $18k.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I applied for CareCredit and that's what I used to pay for mine. You have to check to see if the surgeon you're going to accepts carecredit though. It's like a credit card for health care! I make montly payments and I have the band

The surgeon I chose charges 15k for self pay, with a year of "free" fills. (they are all different...do some research and bargain!)

I had planned to just put mine on a low interest credit card when ins. came through. Many surgeon's offices have brochures for companies that will finance the surgery; care credit is one of them.

Yeah mine was a little over 16000 with a year of fills and a 2 year protection for the band

I am doing research out of Mississippi because of cost. Since you are in Atlanta, Anniston, AL would not be tooo far. Anniston's self pay is @12,900. The doc's name is Freeman. It is Freeman and co.
