Successful post-op diet

I was banded on 4-08-09, by a wonderful doctor in Beverly Hills, Ca., Dr. Salimitari. Even hours after surgery, I was able to drink broth, eat jello, and popsicles without any problems. The key is not to dring anything extremely hot or cold. By the second day, I was able to get in my 4 glasses of water by the end of the day. This is very important, since I am on a water pill for my hypertension.

By week two, I transitioned to creamy and mushy foods with no problems. I pureed Healthy Choice Soups, including my favorite, chicken tortilla. I personally love cream of wheat, or the maple n brown-sugar Malt-O-Meal for breakfast. I did have some hungry moments, especially when I did not take in the proper amount of water. But, I must stress that a hundred percent sugar free diet is a headache

waiting to happen.
