New to lap band

Hi, I've been considering obesity surgery for some years and finally got the courage to take that first step. Originally, I intended to have the tube gastrectomy bypassing the lap band altogether but have since changed my mind. My surgery date is 17th April and I am getting a little apprehensive about it now. My problem is that I live in the country 3 hours from Perth and haven't had the chance to talk to someone face to face who has already been through the surgery. Originally, my doctor said that the lap band may not suit me because I live in a remote area to Perth. Although I'm a regular visitor to Perth (daughter in boarding school) he was more concerned about problems with the lap band I think. This is my very first contribution to any internet discussion group and I'm unsure about how much I can ramble on.redface.gif
