Kaiser Fremont Anyone??

I am looking to have lapband surgery done. I have Kaiser, and I have heard it takes a long time for the process. I figure it is a year of doing something positive vs. another year of wishing I was not as heavy as I am. Trying to take this angle at it.

I am wondering, can you tell me how long the process takes?

I think I will have to loose about 35 lbs. Do they give you some help in doing so (dietician and so on) ?

I keep hearing they may not do lap band anymore? does anyone know?

Any other help would be appreciated.

Michelle

Are you going to Kaiser Fremont for sure? I don't know much about Fremont, but Kaiser Richmond takes about 3-6 mths from orientation depending on how quick you lose your required weight.

Kaiser Fremont takes forever and one of their surgeons is out on maternity leave so it's taking even longer. They do fast-track people with Type II Diabetes.
