:unsure:My husbands company has Anthem BCBS of GA. We live in Cincinnati Ohio. Anthem states that his company does not cover weight loss surgery.? Is there anything we can do? He needs this surgery. Also, anyone in the area know a good sergeon or any information would be helpful!

If insurance doesn't cover, it doesn't cover it. There's no appeal there. However you can finance the surgery; many surgeons have financing options available. There are also less expensive surgeons in the states, as well as outside the country. Sorry I have no info about surgeons in your area.

There are quite a few people who "self-pay" in order to get the surgery.

My husband's insurance also doesn't cover weight loss surgery. So, I've decided to have my surgery with Dr. Kirschenbaum in Denver, Colorado. He charges $9950 and his fills are only $15 after 3 months. It's perfect for us self paying poor souls. I hope to have my surgery in May. Maybe we'll even get some frequesnt flyer miles, lol.
