Do anyone know if your claim is denied by BCBS FEB because one of their criteria is not met (6mon supervised diet), can it be submitted to your secondary insurance for approval for lap band surgery? Secondary is Tricare prime. Any chance for approval doing this?

I had the same situation. I was initially denied by cigna (primary) and was advised by Tricare Prime (secondary) that they would also deny if cigna did. I ended up appealing cigna's decision and won.

Absolutley you can! just send the denial info to your secondary ins with the request for approval from them. i think i would appeal the first ins denial first, though.
