Saddened By Cigna

Hi,

I am newto this site....needed someone who knew how I felt. After months of jumping through hoops, following procedures and paying out of pocket Cigna decided no. Iam depressed and frustrated and feel like I was led astray. It seems that if I were to wait for more complications from my Diabetes or Asthma they will cover these charges without question. Yet proactive.......NO. I guess I will appeal, but really felt like this was my last real hope. Thoughts Anyone? Prayers?

Hello my name is Holly I am in the process of the 6 month diet and im still have 2 more months to go I have also had all my other test done pulmonary, upper gi,ect. My BMI is 36.8 and my co-morbid conditions are edema, high triglyecerides, severe backpain, artheritis, and borderline diabetic.Im not sure if these co-morbid conditions will be severe enough to get approved with Cigna OAP.Im just hoping and praying it will be.

Hi Holly,

You appear to have more 'problems' than I did and I was approved. Just keep on them, basically don't take no for an answer. If they deny you the first time, then ask them why over and over and over (Call everyDAY!!, I called twice a day). I know this is the scary part, having your future in someone elses hands but thats just it, its YOUR future and you have the right to fight for it. You pay your premium every month so fight them if they deny you... Also, remember more than likely they WILL deny you the first time (maybe), this is just Cigna's way of trying to get you to give up so don't...!!! Promise me you won't!

I had my surgery Sept. 10th and its a blessing. I really hope you get this...I wish you all the best!

Mtanna thanks so much for your reply I really need your support!!!!.I am so ready for this and I can promise you that I will not give up.I did for get to mention that I have Gerd aswell I just want to be healthy so I can be around for my 2 beautiful girls and I want to feel beautiful like I know I am on the inside.

I'm so happy you got approved and you had your surgery hows everything going? please keep me posted of your progress

Everything is going and did go perfectly. Never had one day of trouble. I had 2 days of feeling uncomfortable from the gas they put in your stomach but other than that, I was up and around the day after.

Feel free to contact me anytime before and after your surgery. I've learned alot just in the past (going on) 3 weeks. Keep me posted as well...
