I went to my 1st appt with Dr. Enochs office in Cary and found out the lap band cost is about $18,000 - $20,000 plus $1,000 for a years worth of fills. I sure do hope my insurance covers this.

    Did you have to have a certain BMI? Did the approval process go pretty fast with his office. It seems like once you make the choice to get banded - you can't wait.

    I was borderline like you... I am 5'6 was 310. BMI 49.8 some crap like that.. seriously, I tried to lose wieght. lost 7 lbs and Stood just the slightest on my tip toes not enough to be noticed...I was 5'7 303...BMI of 49 or 48...

    my BFF went for her consult April 1 Her surgery is May 30. She has BCBS. She got delayed cause her psych consult kept getting cancelled.
