Anyone Else Experienced this?

Hi all- looking for some information. I had gastric sleeve surgery in June 2024. I’ve only lost 40 pounds post op! I did lose 35 pounds before surgery so I’m down 75 pounds total, but it’s taken about 18 months. I’d like to lose 60 more pounds.

Every time I go to the dietician, I’m told to hit my protein and water requirements, which I have been doing.

I do have hypothyroidism and take medication for this. All my bloodwork is normal.

I had a complete a hysterectomy 20 years ago so am on HRT. All those numbers are normal too.

Regardless of how much I exercise or restrict my calories (800-1000 a day), my weight loss stalls or moves so slowly.

I spent thousands at a functional medicine doctor who did all kinds of tests. I don’t have parasites. She put me on a gluten free, dairy free, and soy free diet and about 10 supplements as my cortisol level is high. I also take probiotics and other things for gut health. I did this for 6 months before giving up as this was costing almost $1,000 month with visit and supplements and little results.

My symptoms still remain: fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, my hair is falling out, eyebrows are thinning, dry skin, and chronic constipation. In addition to the inability to lose weight at a normal rate of 1-2 pounds a week.

I’ve stopped going for post op visits because nothing the doc was doing was helping. My PCP says I could go to an endocrinologist but my numbers are normal so likely won’t help me.

Anyone have any suggestions? I paid cash for my surgery so I’m highly motivated as I’m a teacher and it was a great monetary sacrifice!

Any ideas? Thanks for reading! I know this post is long!
