Anyone experiencing emotional purging before surgery?

Over the past few days I've been really emotional. I feel like I'm letting go of lots of emotional weight I've been carrying. My procedure is just a few days out. I'm a little nervous, but the emotions don't seem to be about fear. It's a deeper purging. Anybody else experience this or something similar? If so, what do you think was happening? When did it pass?
