I injured my knee when I was 18 (ACL reconstruction). I’m 48 now and developed moderate to severe arthritis in that knee, starting after I lost about 20 lbs before surgery. I have now lost 80lbs total and my knee is toast. My surgeon said that sometimes the fat stabilizes the joint and weight loss can bring this on. My orthopedist says that my weight loss was too little too late and I had already done the damage.
Anyone else experience this?

Come sit next to me and have some whine and (lowfat) cheese (stick).
